I'd prefer to be able to poison arrows instead of the bow... but other than that, no idea. Actually an archer should be able to craft his own arrows. Probably crafting will be introduced in the sequel, if not in some DLC. Just my guess/hope here.

I suppose there are enough enchanted bows/crossbows in the game but it would be nice to be able to enchant bows as well. But perhaps that would make them overpowered - arrow of slaying can do crazy dmg already

Obviously I mean poison the standard attack bows have with infinitive arrows... the normal arrows if you will.

umm im just going to completely make this up, but poisoned arrows were highly ineffective due to the small surface area and the air currents blowing most of the poison off mid-flight, so to prevent you from wasting your valuable poisons bioware just disabled the option.

No poison arrows is weird

Also , I think a patch should include poison arrows and that a merchant should sell infinite stacks of special arrows for 1 copper each , its ridiculous that special arrows cost what they do

Really depends on the viscosity of the poison

Unless you plan on using your archer for melee and having them bash enemies with said bow, I don't see the point in adding the poison.

Alright, I was just messing.. I understood what you meant. On the otherhand though, I agree with Zenon.. you should be able to craft your own arrows.

I think its weird also. It would be more fun if you could create custom arrows and it would help make archers more useful in battle. I wonder if there is a reason why bows cant be socketed with runes and archers cant even use poisons? Maybe one of the developers has an answer.

I'm going to see if its possible to simply c/p the code that melee uses to affect with venom to the arrow hits.

that said I haven't messed around with the editor at all..

I hope someone finds a fix for this. I mean how many cultures, movies, tribes what ever use poison arrows???? Just wow bioware! I'm sure this will be ignored perhaps it was a balancing issue but still ridiculous.

Will take a looksie into the toolset and see if I can generate some onhit effects for arrow contact.

Edit: It's quite simple to add the onhit effects of any poison to arrows, just took a look through what's available. May be able to make a mod in a day or so that poisons your shots temporarily, if I can't do that then I'll simply make an option allowing poisons to be destroyed and replaced by a stack of poisoned arrows. (I'd rather not use that option because then they can't be used in conjunction with other specific arrows.)

I can't even tell you how much it would be appreciated if you could make this mod work!!!!

It's all the little things that can slowly get to me, I use archery anyways but this will just make things so much better!!! I hope you decide to do Lascivar, let me know if you do please. I'll be happy to test it for you.

Made my main character an archer and spent ages leveling up his poison making skill only to find out I can't poison his arrows. That's a big letdown. It seems like such a no-brainer for an archery-specialized ranger to be able to poison arrows. It's pretty crazy it isn't included in the game.

In fact, the whole game seems designed to punish you for choosing archers. There's no way to switch back and forth between regular arrows and special arrows on the fly (I think?), no poison arrows, no echanting bows.....

Origins archer is meh.... Awakening archers :3 who ordered the Pin Cushions with a side of Murder! >.> cough. cough still love dual dagger rogues with a mod or 2 for daggers ^.^

but to look like am on topic o.o
at least a skill that allows a dot, that doesn't take a 3+ seconds to load then fire (a mod fixes that too ^.^ for standard archer talent) that burns a decent amount of hp that scales on cunning. (or maybe poisen)
>.> or maybe add a passive talent, if mobs immune doesn't do anything woot)
a talent branch that could passively add bonus of elements to it? like first could be poisen, next fire, and so on, till you have all the elements doing scaled damage ea ^.^ overpowered archers anyone? (totally random post)

i am dissapointed when i first time play as rogue archer, poison does nothing to my arrows, why can't coat an arrow with poison? Special arrows are too expensive to buy.

Yes normal arrows are infinite, but coating effect is temporary and it effect on shots. If dual dagger wielder with extremely fast auto attacks can coat their weapons why can't arrows?
