I love Kira and L pretty equally from Death Note.
Taiga and Ryuji are both amazing in Toradora.
Kamina is an obvious badass, but Simon's even better in Gurren Lagann.
Koyuki is a great guitarist in BECK, but Maho has a gorgeous voice.
Okami and Ryoshi are a great couple in Okami-San and her Seven Companions.
Saito and Louise are insanely cute together in Zero No Tsukaima.
I can't pick favorites in anime really. I always get torn between the character who's the most badass, the character who's the cutest, and the character who's just generally like-able.
If I had to say my favorite, I'd go with either Koyuki from BECK, because it used to be my favorite thing ever, or Simon from Gurren Lagann, because I've never seen such a brilliant metaphor for the greatness of the human spirit.

I don't think we watched the same anime. Kawashima isn't heartless, cold or cruel at all.
Her biggest weakness is that she can never be completely honest to others and over come her own insecurity. Like Minori, she puts on the facade to cover up her real emotions. Especially her feelings towards Ryuji.
Despite her being selfish, narcissistic, cunning and arrogant, she is indeed a good natured person.
Out of all the characters in the anime, Kawashima is by far the most intelligent and the most mature. She is the only person who has a clear understanding of the relationships between everyone in the class, and in some cases, she even tries to push Taiga and Ryuji into developing a deeper relationship between the two.
I guess for some people, Kawashima's personality is just too real for their comfort and that is the reason why I love her so much.

I dunno about all that. I certainly don't think she's the most mature of the group. Ryuji holds that title. He may have highschool drama, but he's practically an adult as it is.
Ami even says that she liked how Ryuji told her she was immature. And he was right. She's a child.

How so?
Well anime is primarily made in japan and has japanese art style and also has many adult themes such as death, violence, etc.. Those are cartoons because they are made for primarily younger ages while still enjoyable to everyone and focus on less dark themes. See the difference?
Totally love all those characters tho. Adventure Time and Regular show in particular
