We ARE talking about anime. Se we ARE talking about anime Goku. I don't give a rats ass if he's different in the manga. In the anime he is a boring, shallow Marty Stu.

And don't say "we dont' understand". Either exaplin it so we do, or expalin waht is it we arne't understanding or why you think we aren't understanding (and if your only reason is that we don't like Goku then that doens't count)

No really you still don't get it. Beating the bad guys has nothing to do with being a Mary Sue. Luffy would be a Mary Sue then right?

Almost every Shonen protagonis is a Marty Stue to a certain degree. Some more than others.

Being a Mary Sue (or Marty Stu) is not jsut about physical power. It's about everything. It's about how the entire show and other characters trehat him/her. How the writer trreats him/her.
They can do no wrong. No mistakes they do ever really bite them in the back or are handwave. Everyone is at awe with them. They are amazing at what they do. The universe revolves around them (more or less). The only one who hates them are either stupid/evil characters or a rival.

Etc, etc..   Mary Sue is a complex descriptor, but it's pretty obvious who is one.

So please Some_Geth, stop the endelss DBZ defense monolouges already.

Up to a point yes, he is a Mary Sue too - but not nearly to the same extent as Goku.
He does get his commupance a few times.

But they are also different kinds of shows. BB is pure comedy and doesn't try to be anything else.

Nicholas D. Wolfwood from Trigun is probably my favorite simply because he is my most memorable, since Trigun was probably the first anime I would watch religiously and he was my favorite character in that show.

Son Goku and Muten Roshi, cause Dragonball was the only anime I've ever watched.
