Okay. Here's my problem:
When I choose Witherfang against Zathrian, all of the wolves and witherfang stand on a blue disk and DO NOT MOVE. Meanwhile, I have to battle trees + those nasty ghouls + Zathrian.
This doesn't seem right to me. If I choose to fight Zathrian, why won't the wolves help me?? I could use their help fighting off those trees - which I'm suprised show up since Witherfang "The Lady" is the spirit of those trees.
Very pizzed off. I've tried to beat Zathrian 8 times and gave up - I can't fight all of those trees and ghouls with just the 4 in my party.

First post here...
I had this also happen but I'm 99.9% sure it's not a bug - I think your potential allies get forcefielded basically. I failed at this encounter a few times but it's actually not that hard if you do it right (no spoilers allowed here, but I think I can say that Zathrian is the key...)

I got myself into that situation and it was the very first post-Lothering quest I did. I managed to beat them in the end though...you'll get it.

I'm stuck here too
Its not likely 'easy' (difficulty) if you have to try 15times only to know that "your journey has ended..."

Just focus everything on Zathrian you dont need to defeat the henchmen just take him down and the battle will end. He goes down really quick if your whole party maul him.
And btw this is the technical support forum you should be posting this in another forum.

The wolves are supposed to fight but they dont. Why? because the developers made Zathrian a powerful boss and wanted you to have a tough fight defeating him. (come to think of it, I think ONE wolf actually helps...). It is possible that Zathrian cursed them but then why dont they make it really obvious? This did feel like broken lore to me, too.
Anyway, if you go on easy difficulty, two fireballs and an inferno (if your mage has it) should deal with the trees all right, then you can focus on Zathrian. Another thing I did once was to retreat with all my team (using hold position) to the lair-bit behind the Lady and only Zathrian follows, the trees just wag their branches about.

If you have anti magic burst or something like that it is possible to get the wolves out of the spell cast on them so they help but you really don't need them.

Thank you! - I tried focussing on Zathrian alone, but the branches kept attacking me... The little room on the side helped me a lot - I never expected the game to demand such a tactical approach...
Thank you both!
