YouTube is your friend. Plenty of runs on there showing it can be done.

So you've never actually played Skyrim, and are going off heresay and YouTube videos. I'm not sure I value your opinion.

I'm not sure where you got that idea from... I have 520+ hours in Skyrim. I was referring to the fact that speed-runners can complete the main quest alone in about 1-2 hours. I, personally, have far more hours invested in the game than that. So don't assume so much on my part, jackass.

My apologies for the assumption, but no need for name-calling.

Right, sorry about that. I've removed it from the original post. It was uncalled for.

Instead of just hand waving me away to search one of the largest websites on the internet how about actually linking me to one?

I searched and found one at 2 hours and 45 minutes. Bit of a stretch, no?

Skyrim: Ocean wide and only puddle deep.
I'm not surprised with it being only 4GB with the amount it has been gutted.

See games like skyrim can be fun for some people.

I, for the most aprt, do not enjoy them, I did enjoy F3 and to a lesserr extent FNV (though i only got 20hrs into it before throwing my hands up).

But two completely different types of RPGs and playstyles, really, you play F3 and skyrim for sandbox not the story, you play ME3 for story and the atmosphere and characters

Now if Bioware and Bethesda teamed upt o make a super awesome sandbox story driven adventure.... i'd be skeptical but i'd buy it.

From another post I made: "I was referring to the fact that speed-runners can complete the main quest alone in about 1-2 hours." 1 hour was just an estimate off the top of my head, since I don't search for speed-run videos on a daily basis... it was the closest I could recall. The point was that the game can be completed much quicker than in 300 hours.

Okay, now you're just trolling. Fine, not "completed" as a whole, but the main quest can be completed.

at least skyrim has a main quest and side quests.

you can avoid MQ all together if you want. which doesn't matter, you don't like Skyrim, fine. This thread shouldn't even be on a ME forum (even if i'm on the other side of the argument)

See, this is why I know you're trolling now. Read a few posts back... I have over 550 hours in Skyrim. Does that sound like I don't like Skyrim? Heck, I even make mods for it because I hate it so much.

Not to sound too hostile but, and?

Ignoring all side content and playing only the main story would make any game short.

It was in response to an earlier post that said Leviathan (DLC) can be finished in 1.5 hours, while Skyrim (the game as a whole) takes 300 hours. It's a completely unfair comparison since, of course, DLC will always be shorter than the main game. And then I was just trying to state that even Skyrim, if you stick to the core game, can be finished in around the same amount of time as Leviathan can be done. My original run for Leviathan took about 3 hours, and that's just a DLC mission. Skyrim's main quest is roughly the same length.

As someone else said though, you can't really compare the two anyhow since they're such different styles of RPGs. One is a sandbox, do-anything-you-want game, the other is more focused on a single purpose and goal. Playtimes are bound to be a lot different between the two.

Wouldn't a more accurate comparison be leviathian vs dawnguard?

Seriously Bioware 800msp for Leviathan 1.65gb of hard drive space and it is soo short! Hardly worth the 1.65gb download seriously how is it possible for an amazing game like Skyrim to be less than 4gb in size and yet DLC is nearly 2gb and is complete rubbish.

Bioware good luck on releasing new games in the future because all I am seeing is fail...

Personally I fault XBL, they don't allow dlc and add on content to be over 2GB despite they have so many games on demand that are larger.

Cutscenes and new music. Both take up alot of space, this is true with all Bioware dlc.

You scene the size of Skyrim?

Yes cutscenes take a lot.  But I probably know more about how much different video game assets(Textures, audio, meshes, scripts etc) take up in memory then most people and I can tell you that the file size is just inconsistant. The file is just far too big compared to whats added into the game itself.

The hell are you on about, OP?

You are likely including the high-res texture DLC and other mods in that filesize.

Ah yes, how silly of me. You are correct.

When deducting the HD texture pack, and Dawguard, I end up with a file size of ~5.7gb. Any other mods are of negligible size (<~20mb).
Well, I find this extremely surprising. This file size for a game like Skyrim seems like something out of the previous decade.

That's a bit misleading. Skyrim is however long you want it to be since you can play "forever." But the main quest can be finished in roughly 1 hour.

Bull.

Bethesda actually did a competitive speed run before release and the winner beat the game in about an hour and a half, if I recall.

Leviathan is actually over 3GB when unpacked according to preliminary data-mining.
