I like the game and action, though I was wondering if you can change the music in the game when you fight. Like something like a rock song when you fight. I guess this curiosity comes from watching the earlier trailers of the game. I was wondering if it could be done, like for example, change the music to "This is the New (Beep)" . If you watched the Grey Warden Calling trailer, then you would possibly know what I mean. Just wondering.

I'll tell you if you tell me how to get music working :P

Seriously, how do you get music working?

As for combat music, try this in the area script (pressuming you know about event scripting):

case EVENT_TYPE_COMBAT_INITIATED:

{

StopMusic("main");

PlayMusic("combat");

break;

}

case EVENT_TYPE_COMBAT_END:

{

StopMusic("combat");

PlayMusic("main");

break;

}

lol I have no idea what that means, lol why do I have a feeling I'm not the only sheep wondering whats going on. I've been lookin through this type of forums, and I see more bank forums, then answers. Oh well. In time, maybe we'll all figure it out.

Hmm Scripting, do I have to put the name of the a song some where, to refer to a song I sould have on the computer already. Or am I completely wrong?

Oh - you mean to edit the core game? I would imagine you would need to use FMOD to create a new sound set, name it the same as the one you want to override, then bung it in your override folder. I don't know how to use FMOD though.

My script would be for a custom area to switch sound to a different music object upon entering combat, then switch back afterwards.

I've also wondered about this as I want to replace the DA soundset with the 300 music files...but so far not many peeps seem to have shown much interest in doing this...and what the hell is FMOD?!

its a music program (which is the thing that changes the game sound) that comes with the download of the PC version of Dragon Age Origins, it even comes with a big A)(*s manual, and I havent even finished through that, when I was trying to read it, it got my head scratching even more than before, and I hate the wiki stuff, makes it more complicated then it sometimes is, but someone has to start somewhere I guess, thanks for the link though
