From looking around on the forums I see that I have already wasted $25 by buying these points for the DLC. I love the game and wanted to play some of the downloadable content.
I went on EA's site and bought 2000 points and purchased both Wardens Keep and The Stone Prisoner and it would not let me download them. The content did come up on the downloadable tab, but it did not download the content. The version of my game was bold and red as if the DLC was only compatible with the 1.0 version of the game (so if you want this content on steam make sure you do not update your game). I tried restarting the game and clearing out my download cache to see if it would fix the problem. - DO NOT DO THIS - YOUR POINTS WILL BE LOST!!!
As a result I have lost all but 240 of the points I paid for, and the game thinks I never purchased the content. I am extremely disappointed in EA for this poor implementation of a point system. The points should not be used unless the download has completed (aka you got what you paid for).
I really hope EA has some plan to reimburse those users with points that did pay for them. I have all of my confirmation emails saved as proof that I paid.

I spent some time on the DA chat help and he was able to point me to this link which solved my problem. I am now able to download both items I paid for.
