Don't understand why so many haters. I didn't like Leliana when I played DAO first, thought she was kind of poor crazy girl, fanatic and visionary, with an horrible accent.

But then I had more playthroughts, I've seen her in the DA2's Cameo... appreciated her background story in the "Song" DLC, appreciated the "In Uthenera" Cutscene and Song... and kept listening to it for ages.

Now I am totally in love for her, she is an amazing character. Intelligent and so sweet... I never romanced her but I plan to do it in my next game...

And I hope she will be in DA3's Party as a Seeker... I tell you more, I'd like her to be in party and tell the story herself as Varric did in DA2, as she is a bard.

yeah you know what i liked her once too, and then if u go on to "hurt" the ahes of a long dead woman, she suddenly tries to kill you even if she said that she loves you the other day.

Nwesflash, her true love is Andraste. Did you also know she has a thing for other girls. and andraste was quite alluring.
Dont be surprised if she has someone else's baby though. Yep, Jacob im looking at you, my man, do teach leliana the most effective method of cheating.

Well, in my case, after I did that, she slept with me for the first time that same night... experiences clearly differ.

I did, in fact, know that. I am another girl.

What do people mean about her becoming "the next Anders?"

By "the next Anders" I mean completely rewritten in personality, handwaved choices that contradict her fate in the last title.( Never recruiting  Anders into the Wardens and kill Justice, yet having a Warden Anders possessed by Justice in Dragon Age 2.), and crammed into the storyline as a plot device for little reason.

Anders wasn't rewritten, he was developed offscreen. But I don't think they'll do that to Leliana.

Yes, thanks for that reminder. I totally wouldn't have gotten that from the twenty or so other posts of pointless ranting.

I didn't realize it was your job to give him a pointless anything.

Anyways, what prompted this animosity towards a fictional character that apparently fuels your need to spam the thread?

You really want to know the reason do you? Well i will comply:
Did you forget what people said after they killed anders, they said they enjoyed it, that it was the dream of their life. Last time i checked he was a fictional character. Oh and by the way even when i kill a "popular" character Bioware spawns her, just because there aint no cutscene. And also fenris, i killed him but there was no cutscene so i can guess that fenris will be retconned too.

My point is why the imbalance, why only allow anders to be killed, but not leliana and possibly Fenris, why the partiallity. if the players want to kill a NPC, they have to stay dead. As more time is passing our choices in the game are becoming more pointless. I am worried at which direction the game is going, i wonder how players will feel if by any chance their most hated character got retconned(Meredith/Ser Alrik anyone) My "pointless" ranting is a response to prevent DA 3 from becoming ME 3 where ur choices are meaningless. I wonder how players will feel if Leliana becomes a Jacob mark 2.0 and says that she has X's child in her belly, the Leliana fans' expression will be a rich one though.

I weep at the prospect of meeting someone who considered it their "dream" to kill Anders. That is a very small dream.

Right. Because Jacob — a character who was disliked by virtually everyone save for a handful of diehards — was put on a space bus between ME2 and ME3 and given a girlfriend as a consolation prize, that automatically means that another character must do the exact same thing even though there is absolutely no logical or plot-related reason for that to happen.

And because another small group of players discovered that — horror of horrors! — a minor decision of theirs did not carry over in the transition to DA2 because the developers' plans for that character had changed, that means we should expect every decision that we make from here on out to be overturned.

And finally, your strategy to keep these travesties from happening in the future is to berate a bunch of people discussing their like of a character and who have absolutely no say in the making of DA3 about how much you hate that character because she didn't meet your standards for the Perfect Imaginary Girlfriend.

Well, I see absolutely no flaws with that plan, and wish you the best of luck with taking down those wretched windmills.

I romanced Jacob Taylor in the second Mass Effect and felt pretty screwed over by how they handled his romance with Shepard in the third. I understand that he was a pretty forgettable character, but the people who had him as a LI didn't deserve that.

Killing her was a pretty major choice, imo. I've always viewed it as her loyalty quest and would give us an insight on who she's actually loyal to.... the Warden or the Chantry. By waving off this choice and trying to act like it never happened, the choice was cheapen and felt utterly pointless. Even if you spared and never picked the option, just the notion that they waved it off doesn't sit well with me...

Ah yes at last someone with a bit of common sense. Players who killed Leliana were the first victims of BW's ignorance and trust me we wont be the last. Those who killed Fenris will be next

While it's regrettable that you were thrown under the bus, Jack, I personally can't fault Bioware for doing so. In a perfect world, Jacob Taylor would have been more well-liked and more resources could have been devoted to expanding his romance in ME3. But Jacob was the black sheep (no pun intended) of the ME fandom. There was little point into giving him as much attention as, say, Garrus.

As I alluded to before, his hook-up with that scientist in ME3 struck me as being Jacob's consolation prize for being the character nobody liked. Not much of a consolation for Shepard, mind you, but Shepard dies in four out of five scenarios at the end of ME3 anyway.

Sorry, but I can't offer you more than "Sucks to be you" and shrug my shoulders. If DA3 rolls around and Leliana gets murdered offscreen, then you have my permission to come back and kick me in the gut while I'm weeping in the corner.

As killing Leliana has no further implications for the rest of the game or the future of Ferelden, I view it as a pretty minor plot point. I would never do it myself, but I just don't see the big deal.
