With regret, I have to say, I hate the Luna mission from ME1 more, tedious and pointless and made to fit in with the story at the last second, Priority Earth is at least built up to and not completely random.
Those f****** Turrets.

Never ending waves of bad guys afterwards until you run up and press a button. Then they all politely leave or something.7he Island Head wrote...
I like the part where there was no boss, but like 5 brutes and 4 banshees at once

I still have issue with numerous other parts of the games - but up until that point - I thought the pacing, gameplay and story was doing a pretty good job.
Cerberus base onwards though...yeah...didn't do it.

I think it's more accurate to label "Priority: Earth" as the most underwhelming mission in the trilogy. All this build-up and we just get one side-mission with the Cain, followed by several levels of MOAR FPS LOL, and concluding with that horrible (pre-EC) ending...

The final mission WAS NOT supposed to be epic.
It was supposed to be about how much was lost, sacrifice, and struggle.......not some glorious hoo-rah war mission where things blow up everywhere while everyone cheers.
It was supposed to be a sad final mission.
You didn't get it. You missed the entire point.
You did not read the datafiles of people trying to face the invasion.
You did not listen to the radio conversations of the casualty rate, or the stranded terrified woman who tries to save a solider's life, fails, and then commits suicide instead of fighting on.
You did not get the obvious good byes or the finallity that the mission brings.
You wanted a Star Wars ending...too bad.

There are worse missions. In addition to a few side-missions in ME1 (seriously, driving the Mako everywhere, going into the same model base, fighting similar enemies, it got old REALLY fast), there was Luna (dem frakking turrets), Pinnacle Station, and Firewalker: Prothean Site to name a few...

Why is Priority Mission Earth terrible? Let's think:
1. It doesn't feel like a Mass Effect mission. More of a Gears of War mission.
2. The final battle of the trilogy is reduced to fighting in a few blocks on the streets of London.
3. There's no final boss.
4. There's no coordinating attacks with your squadmates like in the SM.
5. We barely see our War Assets in action. Remember in the final battle at DA:O you can summon certain factions from the army you gathered to fight for you? Why couldn't they do something like that here?
6. It's short.
7. It's dull. Again just city streets.
8. The last bit of gameplay is nothing but a round of Horde mode.
9. It was obviously rushed. For example, notice how you don't hear the gunfire from the weapons during the cutscene before No Man's Land.
10. STEEEEEEEEVE dying or not is the only realy variable during the mission.

Or they stand there watching you if you time it just right...
But I also liked that they tried to avoid any final boss - that was nice.

Or, like in the cutscene, the party fights them off.

/edit: No, but seriously, I played through the suicide mission like 2.000 times, time after time, five times a day on different saves and settings. And this mission? Besides finishing my playthroughs, I only replayed it once. ONCE. And that matters.
/edit 2: Still, the Cerberus Base mission was good, very, very satysfying.
