(I consider Priority Mission Earth to start from the landing of your shuttle, to the point where you beam up to the Citadel)

Why is Priority Mission Earth terrible? Let's think:

1. It doesn't feel like a Mass Effect mission. More of a Gears of War mission.

2. The final battle of the trilogy is reduced to fighting in a few blocks on the streets of London.

3. There's no final boss.

4. There's no coordinating attacks with your squadmates like in the SM.

5. We barely see our War Assets in action. Remember in the final battle at DA:O you can summon certain factions from the army you gathered to fight for you? Why couldn't they do something like that here?

6. It's short.

7. It's dull. Again just city streets.

8. The last bit of gameplay is nothing but a round of Horde mode.

9. It was obviously rushed. For example, notice how you don't hear the gunfire from the weapons during the cutscene before No Man's Land.

10. STEEEEEEEEVE dying or not is the only realy variable during the mission.

Its not short.

You didn't get it. You missed the entire point.

You did not read the datafiles of people trying to face the invasion.

You did not listen to the radio conversations of the casualty rate, or the stranded terrified woman who tries to save a solider's life, fails, and then commits suicide instead of fighting on.

You did not get the obvious good byes or the finallity that the mission brings.

You wanted a Star Wars ending...too bad.

So in other words, it was suppose to suck and be underwhelming.

It's tragic that the trilogy had to end this way.

A terrible mission leading to a terrible finale.

Compared to ME1 and ME2's final missions, Priority: Earth was pretty lame. Very, very underwhelming compared to the former.

Like the lack of a true final boss, the length of action, etc.

I can think of many other missions in the trilogy I felt carried more weight to the series..(Virmire, Tuchanka and Rannoch in ME3, Collector Vessel, Horizon to name some)

To be honest I don't think it was awful by any stretch of the word. At least not until the beam run. I actually had quite a bit of fun on that level. The combat was fun and the goodbye's were cool. Yes there should have been more, much more (such as seeing war assets in action or even fighting along side them, but "not enough" is a lot different than saying "awful". Any reasons as to why some of you guys think the level is so bad?

Or, like in the cutscene, the party fights them off.

Nope it's like Icinix said, if you time it right they just stand around watching, during the cutscene a brute was just standing right next to Shepard, standing perfectly still, just watching, and then gone. I suspect it's stocking me :(.

I don't think it was one of the worst, just one of the most anti-climactic. On its own, its a pretty standard "kill waves of enemies until X happens" missions. What ruined it was that there just wasn't a real sense of epicness to the final confrontation.

I get that I was supposed to feel a sense of accomplishment for taking down that destroyer, but I've been there and done that on Tuchanka and Rannoch. Not only that, but at least those fights were more original than Priority: Earth's "spam minibosses for X time. All the other reapers were taken down by my own actions, on Earth I just kinda pushed a button.

In hindsight, it would of been epic if we got the chance to take down a Sovereign class reaper. As it stands, we don't get to kill a big reaper in a game about killing reapers. (For reference, I haven't played Leviathan and consider entering the beam to be the end of the mission).

Naaah. It is not sad. It was anticlimatic. Have you ever seen a good sad war movie "about how much was lost, sacrifice and struggle"? Like, I dont know, "Saving Private Ryan"? If BW wanted to make me feel depressed, why did they do so with low-res textures and underdeveloped locations?

YOU need to learn to read correctly. We are not talking about the ending and are in nowway saying the Priority: Earth mission is terrible because there is no chearing. YOU are the only one who "DOESN'T GET IT"

We are talking about how the mission sucked. You're alone the entire mission despite the fact that you should've had an army. The entire mission also consists of surviving enemy waves, and a turret sequence. That's it. Wow, how extraordinary.

It should have been as large as an entire story arc with a bunch of decisions that you had to make and results based on your war assets and how sound your strategy was.

I like the goodbyes too.

But the level was fairly short, and pretty underwhelming. Especially compared to Ilos/Citadel in ME1 and the Suicide Mission in ME2. Those levels were longer and felt much more intense.  And obviously, they were Priority Earth's fellow final missions.

It should have been the longest mission in the series, though. Nothing wrong with a ton of content.  The longer the better.

I'm not sure about worst mission in the trilogy, but I was fairly disappointed.

I wish that ME3 was only 3 hours long, but each playthrough was very different and all dependent on ME1 and ME2 choices.
