What the hell...? I just met with Alistair, and he comments that "sadly, Loghain still lives." What the hell? What is the point of your actions in DA:I having any effect at all if they won't even copy over game to game? So far the only thing I've noticed was how there was a mention of my old char in my Codex, that's it. I'm feeling rather jipped right now...

don't think he should be saying that if loghain is supposed to be dead in your playthrough.

I know it seems a stupid question but... DID you import saved game from DAO?

Mhmm, agreed. My Dwarf Rogue carved him up like a Thanksgiving Day Turkey!

Was there more I had to do to import the saved game, beyond having the saved games on my HD from DAO already?

there should have been import options, 3 default ones with predetermined DA:O choices and one for custom saves, then you choose your completed save file.

Ahh, ok Kylar, thanks. I'll go make sure those were enabled/loaded, even though I think I did that when I started my game.
EDIT: Beat the game last night, confirmed that indeed I did have my previous DAO game loaded, as I got the achievement for having beaten both games. Still confused as hell as to why my info from the last game didn't get loaded properly, unless I somehow loaded the wrong save (and I was well past killing LOghain in my saved games.)
