Closure:

Yep. Closure. Apparently.....

If this picture was correct, then this part of the ending must be interpreted differently. A body cannot take a breath without a head. It's physiologically impossible. And BioWare knew fans would scrutinize this particular scene very thoroughly.

No feet either.

ME4 - Shepard goes Ironside and solves crimes from his wheelchair.

Anyway, why would the devs themselves name the video (in the game files): "Shepard lives"? It makes no sense.

@Snypy tell that to the devs at comic-con who said that could have been Shepard's last breath

But if the picture was correct, the breath would go against the laws of nature. That's regardless of whether or not it was Shepard's last one.

Closure. Because if we gave you what you deserve you wouldn't pick Control or Synthesis. <_<

The breath scene is a to big of a cliffhanger. It feels similar to that of Halo 3's Legendary ending.

The "breath scene" should be improved to show that after the breathing someone or a group of people find Shepard and pull him out. Then Shepard gets hauled off to the nearest hospital to get patched up. Murmurs are then spreading about how Shepard is still alive to the point of where his presence is broadcasted on open channels saying Shepard is alive and at xxxxxx hospital. Then many of Shepard's allies hurry as fast as they can to see Shepard (those who are still on Earth that is). The camera should fade as the allies come in through the door. Then a scene appears showing Shepard at a award ceremony a few weeks later. Then another scene showing Shepard at a memorial service for those who fought alongside him/her against the Reapers.

Another scene (going video mode) shows Shepard honoring the Normandy at a big tombstone showing all of the Normandy's crew that left the Sol system. During this time the Joker is heard through a nearby radio asking if he can land the Normandy on Earth at a landing site. Upon hearing this Shepard runs towards the site's coordinates being mentioned. When Shepard arrives at the site, he/she sees a whole crowd waiting for the crew to come out. Then Shepard maneuvers his/her way through the crowd trying to get to the Normandy. Then a member of the crowd motions others to stand back because that person understands that Shepard wants to get back to the Normandy.

When the crowd parts open, the Normany crew sees Shepard and almost immediately rush out to greet and embrace him/her. Then they part and reveal Shepard's love interest walking slowly towards him/her with a mixed expression face. When they both meet face to face, Shepard says, "I promise to never leave you again." The love interest responds, "I won't either." Then the two kiss (or if it's with Tali, mask off then kiss). The camera should slowly fade out as the two are kissing and showing the rest of the crowd in a cheer.

Then the next few picture scenes show what happend to the Normany crew. And finally one last scene (also a picture scene) shows what happend with Shepard and his/her love interest.

Ya, thats not closure enough. Despite the LI's hopeful appearance and reluctance to place his name on the monument just yet in addition to the breath scene, thats not an implication of Shepard's survival. For all we know he could die from blood loss, massive trauma, or starve to death or from thirst in that rubble.

Agreed.

It was a token gesture.

Shepard's death in Control and Synthesis is quite explicit. So should Shepard's survival in Destroy+.

I'm sorry, but this is the same team that gave us the kid's description for destroy which is so vague.  It's the same group that figured that synthesis would be a natural evolutionary process, that somehow organic DNA would grow tech spontaneously.  It's the same people that said there would be a reunion and then said there is one because it's implied, then said the torso gasp was a beacon of hope and then said it was Shepard's dying gasp.  This is the same group that said after ME3 the galaxy would be a wasteland, said the crucible would usher in a galactic dark ages, showed what would happen if a relay explodes and said in Desperate Measures (never retconned yet) that a ruptured relay would ruin any terrestrial world in a system.

And when the EC was released this same team said they didn't know how anyone thought the galaxy would be destroyed in the original endings.  The same people that killed Emily Wong on twitter, that  killed Kal 'Reegar in a message, and that thought that forcing people to have their bodies permanently augmented with integrated tech, forced to live under a Shepard reaper god and reaper control, destroying people that were friends and allies that always believed Shepard about the reapers and/or insta death is cool.  If that was Shepard alive (I'm not disputing that), it should have closure (ugh).  And it's utterly ridiculous to think that this ending feels like a win of any sort.

I so want to believe that there's something better that will come of this, but I'm not naive.

I think that's a good summary, and it shows that Bioware"s "artistic vision" for the ending never really existed in the first place. It was a complete mess, and yet they made the decision to tell us that we didn't understand it and that they would "clarify" it for us. What followed was an even greater mess.

Something better did come out of this, just not from Bioware: http://koobismo.devi...rt.com/gallery/

@-Draikin- ,

Marauder Shields may well have been working along with Harbinger to try to get Shepard to turn back.  Too bad that wasn't an option.  I tried that and it didn't work.

You can go back a little ways and check out the newly inserted piles of Ashely and Kaiden but you have really no where to go but the beam.

Yeah when you get hit by Harby you can only go back a little bit, but I also try retreating from the beginning of the conduit scene as well. That doesn't work either.  Not that I ever thought it would.

I wonder how many newcomers are going to throw money at the trilogy edition and wind up here, just as irate.

I also wonder how many WIIU users will wind up here and annoy us. I know that thinking that the WII is host to immature kids and their uptight parents is stereotypical, but I find it to be correct 90% of the time.

It will indeed be interesting.  I wonder at some of those that only played ME3 and thought it was way cool to become reaper god or have green eyes and be immortal (or think they will be)-I think there will be some understanding, but most of those who just liked the cool shooting along the way and the cool looking endings will probably not like the gameplay of ME1 and ignore the story or find some of it boring.  But, I think a certain number of people may feels the same way, understanding that ME3 just disregards ME1 and 2.

What will be interesting is how many people will come and complain that they bought it thinking it would have all the DLC in it-including some who already have the 3 games.

ME1 and maybe 2 are the only worthwhile games in that package in my opinion. My only complaints with mass effect was the lack of variety in weapons, and the average graphics.

Bring down the sky was better than Lair of the Shadow broker in my opinion.
