From Levi files: looks like Citadel DLC is coming after Omega

I was going through some posts I'd made on other forums and found this screenshot of one of the BioWare Pulse episodes on Level Design from last year:

Take a look the the first squad member icon. I remember Chris Priestly mentioned that it was a work in progress. The colours of the icon seem similar to Aria. Also, if you look closely, the Asari looks to have facial markings similar to those of Aria's.

The architecture of the level, however, reminds me of the Cerberus Base (Docking bay), rather than Omega.

Edit: I remember someone on BSN posting this for comparison:

Could be, though maybe it's just one new hub location (hotel for example) and they just named it after that? I don't really know ;P We'll just have to wait and see

I've quite stupid question that I must ask- is there no way to "mod" this change those maps instead of some Citadel level (one of those DLC instead of Purgatory)? Simply replacing lines? Or is there some other think that makes it impossible?

You mean "let's mod the game to see those levels right now"? No, this is just a list of file names. There's no actual files for these levels included in any DLC. Even if you somehow modified the game to force loading of "CitHot" level for example, Shepard would appear in black nothingness (at best) or the game would just crash since the actual files to be loaded are just not there yet

Yep, this is why people first started speculating the entire Retake Omega thing with Aria as temprorary-squadmate

I'm just bringing it up again, for the newer users.

It's a big stretch, but since the area looks like the Cerberus Base... Nah, I'm not going to get my hopes up. :whistle:

We should check the texture files in the game to see if that Aria (or Aria look-a-like) squad portrait is still there somewhere. We could get a petter look at it this way

They leave these little hints in on purpose. There's no need to have these files in DLC it doesn't pertain to. Those crafty bastards...

I find it amazing they can add New areas, Dialouge and event triggers



but they can't seemingly fix that issue with the Enemy AI which is the cited reason for fewer party members, somethnig about them adding more causes the Enemies to go full stupid mode. that and I guess adding in the normandy triggers would be a pain too.


Granted it probably would be a mountain of patch data.

If Aria became a permanent squadmate that would be all the motivation I need to buy the Omega dlc.

Wait, what? :huh:

I thought the reason for fewer party members was for more interactivity during missions, with each other, with Shepard and on-board the Normandy/Citadel.

Just wondering about Citadel DLC. What it will be about? Here some wild thoughts:

1. Citadel relay and dark space. Find remains of the prothean scientists to reveal a dark secret! Journey to the dark space, Find a reason why reapers are reluctant to capture the Citadel!
2. Deeps of the Citadel. Hidden places of the station. Mystery of the Keepers, victims of unsuccessful synthesys experiment or sentient beings? Guest star - Keeper 20
3. Citadel during Reapers attack, help civilians and the council to escape! But Widow relay has been turned off by the Reapers! No fear! Find a way for the Citadel to evacuate them(well not everyone) to Ilos(or elsewhere) , Citadel war assets matters, Harbinger in da house, short sneak peak of the Catalyst!
4. Post ending (it will be a half of the year from now i guess) Get to the conduit with you buddies, target - on/off switch for the Catalyst, Talk to Tim, watch reapers blowing. (Da bum tiss)
And yeah, ME2 squadmates, Jack and Miranda ftw.

Is there anyway the Citadel files in this are for omega dlc itself? Maybe a couple of new areas?

I think that'd be way too big of a download. Microsoft/Sony limit DLC to 2 gigabytes.

Leviathan was 1.5GB at 4 levels long. I don't think BioWare would be able to squeeze 5 Omega levels, an Omega Hub, 4 Citadel levels and possibly a Citadel Hub area into 2GB.

Perhaps not, but the Citadel files might be placeholders for post-Omega DLC, which has been speculated. Squeezing all that into 4 GB (plus who knows what is still lurking in the depths of the EC) might be possible?

Then it would be all in one file and probably named Omg00x. To me it's pretty much 100% clear the Citadel files are different project.

I'd like to see Omega with new stores that sell new stuff, and lots of side quests! Plus we could sell out Aria and ally our selves with the Patriarch!
