You do realize that most of those hosts were disconnected by the server?

You have no idea the kind of fire you're in for if "they" see your thread.

sometimes it's not by choice. I was just hosting a game and got the 'you have lost connection to servers' on wave 10.

So sick and tired of this bug - ALT TAB out and origin is sitting there all greyed out.

Getting to the point that the bugs are making it just not worth the investment of my time.

Yeah - these idiots intentionally waste a half hour of their lives and all their consumables just to mess with the other players, who can always stay and restart the wave. They're diabolic.

Well, there was just a thread started not too long ago by someone advising others on how to do just this sort of thing.

Don't forget all the Wave 3, 6, and 10 credits they've earned and will now miss out on.  I'd say the Host is doing this to screw other players pretty much 0% of the time, considering they'd be screwing themselves far more than the other players.

There are pages of threads on disconnect too. I'll bet there are a couple of idiots out there who think it's funny, but I am betting most lost connection and are sitting there screaming about lost time, consumables, and credits.

Why don't you just stay in the game and see if you can survive the next two minutes?

OP, even hosts are not exempt from server disconnections.

^This.  I've lost connection on wave 11 many times.  It's ****ing infuriating.  The few a-holes who do it on purpose are hugely outnumbered by those of us who just fall victim to the EA server's trolling.  It's happened enough for me to assume "server fail" rather than "idiot troll" whenever it happens.

All I know is that in the thread I mentioned, the OP pretty much said if the host quits in the last few seconds of extraction that it messes everything up. The poster didn't say why, but if true I would guess it's because of the lag caused by host migration. In other words, the time runs out during the lag, but the game is trying to reset the level and that causes a glitch. I have no idea how effective that tactic would be or how common it would be, but it sounds similar what the OP of this thread is talking about when he says the host left the game at the last moment.

So do you really believe that this is done on purpose most of the time? Really? One thread from one idiot negates the dozens (hundreds?) of disconnect posts and threads on this forum?

Absolutely not. I don't think there are that many idiots out there. My point was that people were jumping all over the OP for being upset because they simply assumed it was a typical  server disconnect. The way the OP described it, however, reminded me a lot of a thread I just read earlier today. So, I was simply pointing out that IN THIS CASE it just might not be an issue of a bad server, but a bad player.

What's annoying about it is when you are using the multi-purpose X button (PS3) and you accidentally exit out because the host migration screen suddenly popped out. Happened to me a few times already, and usually during wave 11. :(

Whats the problem? If the host leaves just don't press the exit button.

Possible that there is the occassional rage quit but in most cases it will be a disconnect issue.

Id say 99% of the time its Ea's servers. Most of us wont waste 25-30 minutes just to screw others out of consumables and video game credits.

Same here, the constant connection problems and lack of acknowledgement by EA/BW is frustrating.

FIX THE SERVERS EA/BW, A COMPANY WITH YOUR BUDGET SHOULD NOT HAVE THESE PROBLEMS!!!

Happens to me often, but guess what? It's not my fault, its my lovely AT&T DSL which is the crappiest connection you can get in USA.

For truth. I hope people realise that if they don't press the cancel button the wave just restarts and they keep all their points and $$$.

God, there is nothing I hate more than get disconnected in wave 9 or 10 (especially if I am the host). I once got disconnected while carrying the pizza. :crying: If I knew the randoms I was playing with, I'd definitely apologize to them (and explain I am not a horrible person).

steverw1975 I hope you are not a detective or are responsible for any critical thinking, that is the worst logic ever. "hmmm this woman was murdered by a knife, but why whom? Well my neighbor was telling me how nice his new knife set was today. I'm just saying in this case my neighbor is the killer since these all happened in the same day."

As a frequent victim of this issue, I have to say, there is no way somebody should do this purposely unless something out of their control has happened, sometimes my power cuts off and on in inclement weather, or some emergency type of situation. If somebody did this for ill reason, it will boggle my mind as to why. Rage quitting at that possible moment is the silliest thing to do because you have the credits/xp, why throw it away?
