Hi.  I just have started playing BG again.  I really wanted to have a great cat animal companion so I decided to use ShadowKeeper to create myself one.

- Create any character normally in multi-party
- Launch ShadowKeeper, change race to cat, change class to cat
- Change ingame sprite to Leopard
- Export to single player

I now have this great cat animal companion which is really great aesthetically, unlike wolves which are a lot smaller.  I am just wondering if by selecting the race and class as "cat" that what I really selected was the familiar - cat?  Most often, I see damages dealt around 5.

Also, does anyone know of another way where I can add great cats without taking away a slot in my 6 man party, like the way familiars do?

Thanks.

Why are you not using a familiar?

I do have one, and it's a pseudo dragon.  But I am more interested on getting animal companions that are visually bigger, something fit for a ranger character.

*My party was created in multi-player.

I'd have a look at "Black Spider Figurine", "Golden Lion Figurine" & "Moon Dog Figurine"... They still count towards the summon limits but if you like the basic models then you can use SK & NI (near Infinity) to custom edit one of them into a new item matching your fancy.
