I've read a lot of comments that say skin lightening it's worth getting? If so, why not? I'd appreciate a detailed reason instead of something like "white MJ sucks" as i'm prolly going to delete my melanin and redo my image based on the responses I get. Thanks in advance.

I see, this is relevant to the DA:O General Discussions forum obviously so I say, cake rules pie drools.

Is this some kind of mod? ... if not, then what possessed you to ask on the DA:O forums?

Skin Lightening

Actually considering altering your skin tone in anyway

No self respecting Human being should do this.

If you can't love yourself, you can never love anyone else.

I don't see why loving oneself precludes changing oneself. I love myself, but there are things I don't like. I want to change those things; some of them I AM changing.

Does that make me a bad person?

You know, a bunch of anonymous posters on a game developer's website probably aren't the best bunch of people to ask for such advice.

That may explain a few things.

On the other hand, pronounced narcissism tends to get in the way of loving anyone but oneself.

Me, I'd like to know what it takes for something like this to be "worth" it.

No, it's not worth it. There's no such thing as a 'wrong' skin color, it doesn't exist.

My 1 1/2 cents.

(If you're talking about in-game, then the question might get more aid in the Toolset Forums.)

This is a joke, right?  Why would you alter your skin tone?

3/10 seems kind of high.  I'd give .5/10 max

Consider that the converse is also true: the availability of tanning salons in some Western countries, although I think their influence is not as pervasive on society as the skin whitening fad in East Asia. At any rate, that's what you get when certain ideals about beauty are mass-marketed and commercialized for the sake of profit.

Ooh, that is scary.  It's a shame the kind of pressures society puts on people to look or act a certain way.

Like the Krill of Sigma Star Saga? (Psyme sure makes it look like it works. If only she wasn't so full of herself. Image IPB)

I still stand by my prior advice, there's no such thing as a wrong skin color. Spend your money on something USEFUL, like puder upgrades.

My 1 1/2 cents.

Ok, i've finished the article in this thread, it's another of many fine testaments to human stupidity. Looks aren't everything. Beauticians & the like only want power over your mind. There's no wisdom in listening to them.

Agreed. People really do need to just be happy with themselves the way they are.
