ME3 is a huge success especially when you compare ME3 to ME1 and ME2.

*headdesk* I just finished going over why the majority of ME3's sales numbers came from marketing and previous consumers!

NPDs are nothing new and if ME3 was bad then it would have died in its 1st month just like a game called Neverdead.

You keep saying that, but it's a non-argument. A game with a franchise behind it like ME doesn't just 'die'.

A marketing tactic would be free DLC not a multiplayer weekend.  If that was a "real" marketing tactic then Halo, Gears, Red Dead Redemption, and so on wouldn't keep on having multiplayer weekends.

Free DLC like the bundles we've been getting recently? Look at the way the weekends are being handled. They're chores that require the participation of as many people as possible to work. They're a strongarm tactic to drag the community in.

If they were really inspirations then Gears wouldn't have the only focus out of that list.

so the fact that he says they are inspirations counts for nothing because he doesn't go into further details. Let's see...

I like Star Wars, Star Trek, CSI and Lord of the Rings. I love Star Wars for its characterisation of Darth Vader and his story of redemption.

Clearly because I didn't explain my love of the other things, I only like Star Wars.

Yet you're arguing not debating.

Pot? Kettle?
I was debating. i presented my points, and provided the reasoning behind them. You're the one arguing by countering every point with non-logic and badly worded posts.

Yet you would have to say the same thing with ME1 and ME2 based on these ME3 assumptions.

*sigh*... If you really think that, fine. I, however, am capable of recognising the games as separate entities that can have their own flaws. Just because one has a certain problem does not mean that therefore the previous installments must have as well.

I wanna know that too, but you know, the Journal issue hits you only the first time you play ME3. In subsequent playthroughs you already know what to do. The lack of side-quests, however, hits me everytime I play, and imagine how good it could have been.. :(

it could have been like this: scan the planet, land of planet and/or drive to the location, find the object and/or fight Reaper Forces or cerberus, and turn in the quest when you feel like returning to the Citadel

Not enough from the characters they built up in 2. I understand they were in over their heads from a creative standpoint by having such a large set of amazing characters, and what was there was good (Jack's evolution, Miranda's Oriana story, etc.) but it needed way more to feel completely gratifying.

The fact, that it would have needed 1 year more to become a master piece and didn´t get that time.

This may or may not be true while its not accurate.

Any franchise can die at anytime just like Time Splitters, Crash Bandicoot, ET, and Superman are a few examples.

Mutiplayer weekends are optional and are far from strongarming especially when you look at
Halo, Gears, Red Dead Redemption, GTA 4, ME3, TF2, and so on.

I love how you segwayed into
Star Wars, Star Trek, CSI, and Lord of the Rings even when you could say that everything is "inspired" by something based on loose meanings.  Either way Silverman mentioned Gears and Uncharted as inspirations not CoD, Halo, or Assassin's Creed.

Insults are uselss even when the non-logic and badly worded posts are coming from you.  Its best not to resort to the "I"m rubber and your glue" defense even when you're trying to turn opinions into facts.

Series are normally treated as seperate entities and its nothing new with ME.

So much missed potential. I really wanted to see some other dreadnaughts in close ups and action rather than just the Destiny Ascension. In ME2 Kasumis loyalty mission you see a statue of a Turian dreadnaught and in ME1 you read in the codex about 6 human dreadnaughts named after mountains on Earth.

If you want to know what's wrong with ME3, go read the thread about the deleted content of ME3.

That should give you some idea. The things that they could have had in this game, but deleted, absolutely boggles my mind.

The worst aspect was the reams of auto-dialogue and the attempt to introduce a defined protaganist in the final part of a player characterised protaganist trilogy.

Cerberus/TIM being idiots for the sake of Shepard having someone else to shoot at.

Auto dialog, evil Cerberus... strike that Cerberus in general, all missions with them suck. The Reapers are this unimaginable threat from beyond the Galaxy so why do most my missions feel like I am playing CoD:14: Future Warfare?

It just bugs me, if I want MW I will play MW if I play ME I WANT ME, NOT MW! The Reaper missions are good, the husks are good enemies to fight, they are zombie like horrors from beyond, not guys in combat gear and helmets.

The antagonist motives.

Antagonist: We killed millions billions of people because we believe that organics always suffer from being wiped out by their created synthetics. No further explantion. No examples.

Geth fighting for us. Reaper bring darkness as well and not to less. Why are synthetics a bigger thread to others then organics for each other, or the reaper themselve?

Yeah.

Any choices based on that kind of atagonist do not matter. Simply end the cylce, doesn´t matter how.

1. Don´t insult mental retarded
2. Yeah most of the team did a good job earlier, thank you for that
3. Wasn´t the lead writer of ME1+2 gone and a new guy took over?

The really lazy 'side-missions' always put me off when I think about playing again.
