Without the Starchild? No.
With the Starchild? the Reapers are ruined.

The Catalyst is the leader of the Reapers, which it would contradict the Reapers themselves.  Either way the Reapers haven't changed since their introduction in ME1.

KingZayd wrote...

"Organic life is nothing but a genetic mutation, an accident" (so why preserve it?)

"Your extinction is inevitable. We are the end of everything" (not your preservation, not your ascension. Your EXTINCTION)

"Your civilisation is based on the technology of the mass relays, our technology. By using it, your society develops along the paths we desire"  Indicating that if the creation of dangerous synthetics is such a frequent problem, it is part of "the paths" the Reapers desire. And in fact we know that the Reapers have tried to use the Geth against us, and tried to use the Zha'til against the Protheans.

"We impose order on the chaos of organic evolution" No mention of Organics vs Synthetics in the entire conversation with Sovereign. But he speaks quite frankly.

"You exist because we allow it. And you wll end because we demand it." (Again, end, not ascend and not be preserved)

"We are each a nation, independent" Well clearly not independent with the Starchild.

"You cannot escape your doom." Again doom, not preservation and not ascension.

"Your words are as empty as your future. I am the vanguard of your destructtion" And again, destruction, not preservation and not ascension.

The Catslyst is still the invisible guiding hand for the Reapers and they even retain most of their individuality.  Btw ascension varies from person to person like with religion, culture, and race.

So the entire ME series then since every ME had treatment like this.

Major decisions you've made throughout all 3 games do not affect the ending.

Yes they do.

The earth mission , and the fact we got the crucible mostly one whole piece to cut exploration.

ME 1 & 2 didnt have as much auto dialogue as ME 3... The auto-dialogue railroaded what was supposed to be in Biowares own words " our story " into their story...

Still puzzled at why the Crucible Data wasn’t on Feros or Illos. Those two planets where easily a Data trove paradise to explore. Yet the Beacons being the Prothean version of E-Mail simplified the search for the Crucible data. I didn’t realized how much I enjoyed searching the planets until the option was no longer around.

1 - ME1 plot contradicted and ME2 plot rendered useless (at least that seems to be the case right now, maybe they'll tie every loose end with upcoming dlc)

2 - Autodialogue

3 - Priority: Earth

The Crucible data was meant to be found, otherwise no sense making the blueprints. Ilos wasn't meant to be found.

I could move on from almost anything, but leaving the trilogy with an inconclusive conclusion is something I still haven't managed. So that gets my vote.

It felt like there were a lot of things that weren't finished at the time of release.

lack of exploration, the ending, the lack of ME2 characters. ME3 is pretty much a slap to the face to ME2 fans!

All 3 had auto dialogue and its useless to complain about it in ME3.

ME3 was meant to be the ending for Shepard like how ME1 was the beginning and ME2 was in the middle, which what happened similarly to the LotR and Nolan's Batman trilogies.

Yet ME2 isn't the only ME game and its far from that.  Either way ME2 would be the slap to the face to ME fans based on how most of the ME3 "complaints" stem from the faults of ME2 more then the faults of ME1 and ME3.

NICE  ;p

to be honest there was too much combat, not enough places to visit and explore, to many fetch quests not enough actual quests and the auto dialogue.

i loved exploring in the previous games :/.

Mass Effect 3's biggest flaw, to me, are two things.

1. Kahlee Sander's is aesthetically inaccurate in ME3. In the novels, she is described as having dark blonde hair and brown eyes. In ME3, her hair uses the code for light blonde and she has pale blue eyes.

2. Haestrom was never followed up on. I know that was because of the Dark Energy ending being dropped, but the Quarians made a big deal out of it in ME2. Some explanation or something arguably could have been added.
