This. Definitely, 100% this.

A failure to live up to expectations set by marketing and the developers over the course of the entire trilogy.

At least to me.

The ending, obviously. But since i guess thats everyones main problem ill think of another one.
Losing control of our Shepard. Decisions don't matter.

The poor story arc, decisions being meaningless, terrible ending, removal of exploration missions, and of course, the horde mode gameplay.

Basically, it was everything Bioware promised it wouldn't be.

The dialog system. There was too much auto-dialog and when a wheel does pop up, there aren't enough choices. Very often the audo-dialog results in Shepard saying very out-of-charecter lines. Shepard was no longer 'my' Shepard.

ME2 had the right amount of auto-dialog to keep the cinematics flowing while giving you enough choices to role-play. ME1 had another problem, which is that three choices often led to the same line. They should have opted for auto-dialog in these cases.

Ending obviously and it's impact back throughout the game - a "press the button to beat the enemy" machine was precisely what I was hoping we wouldn't get, being so incredibly lazy, even before it was made worse with Starbrat. Nothing you can possibly do lets you see Shepard with his team at the end hurts too since it's harsh treatment of the characters and they're the biggest appeal of ME to me.

- Auto dialogue.
- Lack of hub world. Citadel got reduced again....
- Lack of exploration
- Lack of impacts from my choices. Rachni queen gets replaced with clone.
- War asset. What's the point of collecting them if you can't see effect in the final mission.
- Endings. Even with EC, it doesn't address our choice impact. It is not consequence based like Bioware advertised.
- Lies from the developers.
- New characters taking up places. They tried to appeal to new comers too much. Why not focus on previous characters?
- Earth mission. It was just a linear railroad shooting without any impact from my choices.
Mass Effect tried too much like Gears of War, but lost its essence.

- ME2 LI's not being squadmates
- mandatory death of Thane, even romanced
- synthesis
- too much auto-dialog, which breaks Shepard's character at times
- making ME2 completely irrelevant
- multiplayer influence on endings

-massive auto dialogues
-core ME2 squadmates get mostly very little content
-canonical deaths of Thane and Legion
-synthesis
-our choices instead of having an impact, just become a number on screen
-destroy always kills EDI and geth
-character assasionation of Jacob
-Priority:Earth is the most dullest mission I have ever played in any game and wastes an opportunity to have Suicide Mission style mission with allies you struggled to gather whole game

this minus the thing that I wasn't bothered by auto-dialogue that much.

plus the fact that Harbinger didn't have any lines, and he should be the entity we deal with in the end. Or at least one of the entities.

I'm going to add to this and include

-every biotic ability detonates. (I really miss just pull/throw combo - now adepts feel like "biotic gods")

Also, the fact that they changed the game so it enforces moving basically destroys any "tactical" feel to the game (not that it had much to begin with). Commanding an ally to move to a certain position will only kill them. They remain at the position as long as they can even as enemies are flanking. It's best to let them do what they want, which is sad because I really enjoyed positioning my squad.

Easy answer: The endings.

Besides the endings, my biggest problem with it would be the utter and total waste of the ME2 cast, sans Legion and Mordin.

Actually, this is pretty comprehensive.

The biggest flaw to me? The fact the game was in all actuality a $65USD BETA.

The original endings.
Poor treatment of ME2 characters aside from Garrus and Mordin.
No neutral dialogue option.
Whole conversations of autodialogue.

The wasted potential. There were a lot of good and interesting ideas in Mass Effect 3 that they either failed to explore or simply abandoned.

It's kind of like the Dark Knight Rises. Good ideas, poor execution.

The biggest flaw was pretending it was an RPG.....there was no need to level up as there was no bosses and you could use one gun and blast your way through because there was no real challenge.
