Since we have people from all over the world I would love to hear about the varied favorite traditions from your country or jkust your city or town or villag or maybe a holiday memory at Christmas time.
I am from U.S. and have two favorites Going to Midnight Mass when the church is all decorated and listening to the choir sing of cours in my youth it was a latin mass. My second one is just sitting by the picture window with some hot chocolate late at night with the wife and watching the snow fall, you know those big fat snowflakes that just drift down and the street lights and house lights just make it look and feel so peaceful.

Since I started taking ballroom dancing lessons four years ago I go to a christmas gala each year with the friends I made at the dance school. Thats a lot of fun, everyone all dressed up and trying to make silly pictures of each other.
Thats my favorite time of christmas, its usually about two weeks before christmas so that everyone can get to be there, so the best part has already passed.
With the family we get together and have dinner and open presents at the christmas tree, but this doesnt really interest me that much. My mother likes giving me stuff thats not on my list that I dont want while I give a perfectly fine list each year with lots of stuff on it.
Aside from that my sister and her fiancee shower each other with lots of gifts each year which means half the presents under the tree are for either of them, and we celibrate christmas with 10 people.
And being single with christmas is kind of awfull.

Being single aint so bad. You know you could always buy yourelf what you want and just label it from Santa that way you dont have to wait for family or friends and hope you get the stuff on your list. Also everyone else will be wondering who the SANTA is especially if you dont mention anything to them.

They would know, and I just buy what I want anyways, in December I just try to save some things to ask for christmas.
Just a few more days, and then its all over. Ah well, at least I have a longer weekend, but thats the only good thing about it.

I just tell my family that clothes work for Christmas.
I'm the first person in my family to get a computer science degree.
The things I do with my computer, they'd have no idea what to buy me, so for Christmas I built myself a new one that is forward upgradable enough to last me a few years.
I guess my favorite tradition that's developed over the last few years is taking my mom Christmas shopping. She doesn't like to drive much anymore and she enjoys my easy going "along for the ride" approach. If she goes with dad, he's always in a rush to get it done as efficiently as possibly
