How to reuse same custom Hawke?

I'd love to have another pt with same Hawke. I don't talk about level and skills - I know you always start fresh, but I'd love to reuse her face and class. I got used to her, you know... What's the easyest way to do so? I could rebuild her with sliders in editor, of course, but isn't there any other way? I'm on a PC. And I have no idea about DA moding. :)

I actually was hoping there is an in-game option same as in ME - just to reuse your character... But either it is not there, or I did not found it.

I suppose if you created a save immediately after ending that first convo with the family outside Lothering, you have the same character and could start from that point. Not quite the same as starting a new game with the same character but it's an option (if you left that for yourself). Barring that, I guess you'd have to take a picture of your Hawke and redesign her in the CC in the new game, using your pic as a guide. Since you don't know about modding, it may be the only option you have unless you look up modding guides on the net.

Was trying to find the same thing a couple of months ago. I used the console to send her back to Lothering but Aveline's recruitment cutscene didn't trigger (she wasn't even there) so I couldn't progress.
I'm guessing it's because i've already been through the game, the cutscene doesn't reset or..somethingsomethingsomething.

Not an option, because I want to use different (DAA, first one was pure DAO) save import this time.

I'll do it only if I will find no other way. And it will add a minor annoying thing about DA2 for me. Which is shame. I absolutely loved this game, but it is full of stupid minor (and few major) annoying things.

Since you don't know about modding, it may be the only option you have unless you look up modding guides on the net.

Well, that's why I asked - to find out how people do it. And I pointed out that I'm not familiar with DA2 moding so that people who may give me advices and links would know that.

I'm ok to dig for manual, but I simply don't even have idea where to start searching. Which tools are involved etc.

I more or less know how ME "facecode" worked, though. So, I just suppose there must be some not too tiresome way of replacing a string or several variables in a new save with a string and several variables from old one, no?

Ok, I assume that's not the first and not the last time someone needs to do what I wanted to do.
So, here's a working and REALLY simple solution from user PM78 for PC I've foundamong threads:

You can use the GFF Editor http://modsreloaded.com/pygff.

Open the save with the appearance you want to copy.

Here you have to open 16950:

-0
-16002 SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR
-16008 SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR_CHAR
-16950 SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR_MORPH

You can now see the coded morph in the edit window. Just right click here and select
"Save to file". You can store the data in a txt file.

After that open the save you want to change. Navigate to the Morph Path here, right click
in the edit window and select "Import from file". Now import the txt file created before.

If you now save everything, the char should look the same in both save files.

I also tried to make it with python script called DragonAge Face Replacer - but that one did not seem to work for me (with 2.7 python installed), not sure about how and why. But now I'm standing right outside Lothering with my good old custom Hawke from old save, lv1 rogue.

Hope it will help someone else.

ps: if it is important to someone - family looks may be different, if you picked new face presets in character creation screen. But those must be same way editable to old if needed.

COOL! I'm glad you got it working the way you wanted. DragonAge Face Replacer is for Origins--I used it briefly before I learned how to use the toolset to change my Warden. I don't think they made one for DA2.  Since there is no toolset and I am not savvy enough to use the GFF editor, my Hawke always varies a little from play to play, but then I prefer being able to mix things around a bit, sometimes even changing hair, make up using the mirror in the Black Emporium mid game!

As for the family there are some nice mods you can install to your game that will ensure they look the same as well from play through play. I particularly like Ivey's mod since it gives you 5 different (but consistant) families to pick from with varying colorations/appearances, so you can have the same family look on multiple plays regardless of what Hawke preset you choose.

Yeah, I know they exist. But suprising thing - I think that my current "random-hawke" Bethany+mother look much more like family to my "original" Hawke, than those that were offered first time basing on her presets. 8P

OMG Nrieh, you've saved my life. I've been looking for this for ages. Thank you so much. :kissing:
