Question about the "Kill 50 Enemies with the ______ Talent" Achievements

Example: Enemy has 25 health left. Assault does 50 damage. 25 damage is wasted, all for the sake of getting the achievement. It's a waste of stamina and could end up hurting you during long fights.

on a slightly more serious note, some achievements can be fun, and make a nice indication that there's still more to discover in the game before you put it aside to gather dust

He speaks the truth. I got the achievement for the Assault move via Alistair. And I'm pretty sure I earned more than half of the 50 required kills for the Whirlwind acheivement by just diving into mobs in the final battle and waiting for them to completely surround me. It's like mowin' grass
Can imagine that is akin to seeing how many you can kill with 1 hurl rock of shale's
Last playthrough when got to the alienage, I got a bit cocky with Shale, I'd been doing the cheesy 1 pull through the gates trick up to a certain point but then went for a sneak with my rogue PC to see how why hadn't finished as couldn't see any near the gate. Saw loads of them on the bridge, so got Shale to run up and hurl rock at them. Loads went down

There are people who enjoy beating the game as fast as possible. There are people who enjoy soloing in the nude in Nightmare. There are people like me who enjoy getting achievements. It's really that simple.LynxAQ wrote...

You think thats stupid, dont forget you havent completed 100% of Dragon Age if you dont have these pixel numbers. Achievements are pointless and even more so in a single player game where people can cheat to get them. Yes using a respec mod to get all the "mage spells of whatever category" achievements is cheating and sad if you did it.

I dont understand people that start frothing around the mouth when other people do something that has absolutely nothing to do with them, doesnt affect them in any way and they cant even see it being done.
"Cheating" in single player game is not sad, sad is that you feel the urge to dictate someone what to do with their personal, private, legally bought game that has nothing to do with you.

Well, the weird part is getting an achievement for some 2-handed hits when you've never, ever played a 2hander character. I mean, what the >>>?
OH... *breathe* *breathe*... MY... *deep breath*... MAKER... !
Blasphemer! I will see your head on a pike for this... this... blasphemey!! Grab your sticks and forks brothers, today we burn a witch!!!
Seriously tho I love 2 handed warriors in this game, they are not the best, but big long 2 handed swords... hmmm... i like big swords.
Probably why I hate Alistair, cause he doesnt have big sword.
But achievements are pointless end of the day.

Cheating is cheating whether it be in a single player game, MMO, online FPS whatever. Cheating is still, your guessed it cheating. All I am saying is why people feel the need to cheat to get these points which effectively mean nothing?
And as for having "nothing to do with me", this is a public forum right? He brought up the achievements, and I gave my opinion on them. I have as much right to speak in this forum as you do. So the moment you make a topic on something in this forum, I DO have a right to comment on it, whether you ike it or not. Not my problem.

I think achievements are pointless, however, I did not say other people shouldnt do them cause I think they are pointless, go get them if it means so much to you, but, why cheat to get them? I mean whats the point?

Why people feel the need to play games at all, after all in greater scheme of life its totally pointless waste of time. Whether you play your way solo on nightmare or cheat at easy effectively means nothing, and how somebody else plays their game effectively means nothing since it doesnt affect you at all.
You can have and state your opinion, but I didnt see that title of this topic was "what do you think about cheats" or even "what do you think about achievements". Your opinions just show a lack of respect for other players - in my opinion.
