I've used the Sorcerer's Place Collection items component, which I've really liked. It adds some modest items, like an ioun stone that lets you memorize another level-1 spell, and a +2 staff that's different only b/c it also casts Mirror Image and Blindness once or twice a day. There are so many item mods and I was wondering whether there were any other (stable) item mods that have low-key items like that. I like discovering new items in my games, but too many item mods add game-changing, overpowered items. I just want the discovery without anything too cheesy or game-changing. (I was thinking of giving Item Revisions another try, but after it has a version that'll mesh better with 1PPv4.)
Since I'm posting, I have two other questions - if an enemy sees through invisibility and does something that makes me roll a save, would the save bonus from Improved Invisibility still apply?
The other one is, how do you guys set traps so you can lead enemies to them without setting the traps off yourself? I seem to be really bad at this and maybe I'm missing something.
Thanks!

Like a pair of boots that cast ‘Freedom’ once a day or a ring that adds + 1 casting speed?
Most of the long term players just make the item they want to use... there is a post on this in the general forum where you can ask questions or request help to make an item.
* If the Invisibility stays in effect then you still have any bonus/ debit until it is dispelled or cancelled.
** Thieves use the ‘Set Traps’ skill to place traps but perhaps you are still wearing your armour so try taking it off before you set the traps... obviously putting more points into the skill at the next level up will help as well.

Thanks for the reply, ussnorway. Good to know about invisibility... I thought so but I wasn't sure.
-For the items, yeah, I meant items like that, but I really want more of a surprise. There's no specific effect I'm looking for. I just want to discover new items as I go.
-I'm sorry, when I was talking about traps I meant the spells you can set like traps, particularly Skull Trap and DBFB. I realize thief traps usually only go off for enemies, but it seems that some people use DBFB to lay ambushes and the best I've done is to immunize myself to fire and try to make the enemies follow right behind me.

I do it by running in a ? pattern around the traps... exactly how you buy the time depends on the target and what mods you installed;
1. If you have SCS then it tends to disallow using AOE spells to draw the boss targets (Dragons etc) like vanilla but in bg1 dropping a ‘CloudKill’ (’scroll’) on the area is the best way to pull Sarevok.
2. Popping an expendable add to act as a sort of speed hump while you get away from something particularly fast and nasty... the humble “Black Spider Figurine” works well.
3. Way points in group play allows you to set a very exacting path without needing a lot of oversight... simply pause then [Shift]+[Right-Click] the desired route, now you can un-pause & go back to buffing/ summoning the reception committee.

Thanks again! That tip about using a summon like the black spider is a great thought, and I had completely forgotten about way points.
