Anyway OP, who cares?
We have plenty of other things to make us happy and proud to own a PS3.

It went to PS3 because Microsoft only published the first game, and then EA took over and were not restrained by contract to release on Xbox only. Hence why ME2 and ME3 came to the PS3. Also, EA likes money and releasing on 3 platforms instead of 2 makes them more money.Phantom089 wrote...

It's simple economics.

Seriously, Sony are real dicks about a lot of things. I got banned (rather, my debit card did) from the PSN store for (I suppose) spam buying PSP's. Think about that for a minute. I got banned for spending my money too fast in their store. Ridiculous. If I didn't own some platform specific games that I still enjoy playing, I'd have hopped the fence long ago.

Same reason why Bethesda will never release the DLC of Skyrim on PS3 I guess.
Erm, nope. Bethesda has a timed exclusivity deal with Microsoft so Dawnspell will be released on PS3 when that's up.
*******
As for the X-Box vs PS3 arguements, it's personal preference. Pretending 1 is better than the other is pointless because we're all looking for different things from a console...

Yeah, let's stay on topic and not make this another console war.

I'm not particularly "proud" to own a PS3. I own all 3 of the current gen consoles now, and a midlin' gaming PC, and I just happen to prefer the PS3 interface and controller out of all the consoles (just a personal preference, probably rooted in my familiarity with the feel of the controller stretching back to the PS1, and sure, that is "plenty" to be happy about, I suppose).
As for who cares, well... I do. Like I said initially, it isn't the end of the world, and it didn't detract from my enjoyment of the single player game and story in any way. I even enjoyed the multiplayer (which I only started playing to have 100% for the singleplayer), even without my BF3 skin. It's more curiousity and slight aggravation than anything serious.

The irony in this post is strong. You're asking for intelligent responses with run-on sentences and poor grammar.
Plus, what I said is from the Reservoir Dogs tipping scene, guy.

It's not necessary.ZombieGambit wrote...
Besides, why would you play ME3 on PS3 when the series started on Xbox (and later PC) and you can't play the original, which is pretty damn necessary?
It's like saying watching The Godfather Pt. I or Star Wars: A New Hope isn't necessary as long as you've watched the other 2.
As soon as the developers abandoned the trilogy premise in favor of a stand alone installment premise with numbers attached to the titles. When they use phrases such as "Mass Effect 3 is the best time to jump into the story" (not a direct quote...I forgot how it was worded exactly) as part of their hyping of the game. That's when.
The Godfather is an actual trilogy, properly written from start to finish, before development. Mass Effect...wasn't.
To answer your first question though...not everyone owns a XBox or a PC, and it's a wee bit over the top to buy one just to play ME1. So, they make due with what they have.

As for the doctor pepper stuff, does it really matter? On the ps3 you have the complete arsenal pack which contains the collector armor, terminus gear and weapon, and those dr pepper visors. On the 360 and pc that stuff is now impossible to get because they were limited time promotions...so yeah on that note that stuff cant be used in an argument
It was more, at the time they were available, I was curious why I couldn't get them. I don't think their inavailability now is irrelevant at all when you are trying to show a pattern of PS3 getting skipped over by EA, which is what I seem to notice. (They did the same thing with all the Bad Company 2 promotions, but this is the BioWare forum, not the EA forum, so I was discussing specifically EA/BioWare products that were impacted initially and that was the only BioWare product involved in the Dr. Pepper promotion.)
I also love that your answer to not receiving the item you had an expectation of receiving when you chose to purchase your soda pop is "well, they'll let me spend more money to buy it on the PS Store now if I really want it". Marketers must LOVE you. Anyway, the Dr. Pepper stuff isn't that big a deal in and of itself (you'll notice that I mention I have them on my PC version - because I had to do something with those caps when I couldn't redeem them for PS3 - and even called them lame). The bigger deal is this trend of glossing over the PS3, which I fel is especially bad with the Battlefield 3 type promotions since you've bought 2 games from the publisher and should have the expectation of being treated like your consumers on the other 2 platforms.

Word. It always kind of galls me when people say "Why don't you just play it on 'Platform Z'?", as though everyone has disposable cash to throw around on a console or PC to play one franchise on. I happen to own all three of this generations consoles now, but I don't ever buy any of the new consoles in a generation until there is at least one round of price drops, and I didn't get an Xbox until very late in the game for various reasons. For those of us who did play ME1 on PC (or even an early Xbox that red-ringed), starting at ME2 on PS3 (with the interactive comic) was good enough. Not the best, but good enough.
And none of that still has anything to do with why promotional content, especially content tied to other EA game purchases like the Battfield armor, isn't available across platforms.

btw, the BF3 Soldier skin looks utterly retarded (check pics on Google) AND you can make it yourself, cuz it doesnt really have anything to do with BF3
but seriously, try to play GR:FS and then you'll understand what problems are...
pretty much the whole game is broken down shiet, except the single-player... at some points lolol
I used to havea XBox 360, till i got the red ring of death and never bought one, played ME1 7times and bought all the other ME-series on PS3, but wish I had it for PC, so i can get some neat mods
I'm reading the graphic novels and books too though

It is. If you want to play a watered-down GoW clone, then ME2 and ME3 is perfect. Otherwise, go for ME1.It's not necessary.
I wouldn't dis ME2, had alot more content and variaty than ME3. ME1 is great too, I agree, it's just hard to come back to a different paced game after playing ME2 and 3.
But other than that, I feel like it should be mandatory for people to play from 1 to 3, then they can truly complain about something or come up with cool ideas. Plus you get the entire story and a ton fo choices.
