They lied multiple times about Mass Effect 3 and after release of that an oblivion they were surprised and shocked that how is it possibile that fans start riots over the internet, over 6 months I was asking myself how anyone from BioWare could believe that those endings are fine. And here we go again with announcing of EC they lied again and fans ate that bait, so tell me what else than insults or trolling did they deserve ?

They been hidding in their sky palace of artistic integrity with earmuffs ignoring any kind of intelligent conversation or valid criticism, and their best line of defense were words like: Artistic integrity and artistic vision, but unfortunately for them lof of people said your vision suck and integrity is none...

Regardless if the post was real or not, the point is that people jumped on it and took it as 100% truth. Insulting Casey & Mac started from that moment, that post gave people "the enemy" they wanted, someone to blame everything on. Many people didn't even wonder whether the post was real and those who thought it was real didn't wonder whether PW was actually telling 100% truth or perhaps trying to wash hands. The only point was that there was finally a gossip to jump on and start insulting someone personally. Childish as **** in every sense.

Maybe because they didn't want to read vulgar and ridiculous tweets & comments directed at them anymore? Have you actually seen what people sent to them? I did. Had absolutely nothing to do with any criticism, even harsh criticism. And it still goes on. Go to HoldTheLine.com for example, they keep insulting Casey & Mac every day

I've seen some of the comments. I don't know how those people can even claim to be "fans" when they spew hatred like that at the developers.

I didn't even know who the hell Casey Hudson was before the ending thing came up. I'm sure he didn't know me either. So there is no loyalty lost between us I'm sure.

And I don't remember anyone ever claiming to be casey's "fan" before or after the endings.

To clarify, he said "I didn't write that." That does not mean it is not true. And uppon further questioning the only thing both he and chris ever said (even when a fan clearly asked and I quote "Fine he didn't write it but is it true?") All they ever said was "He didn't write it."

A noncommital answer to try and dispell the mith without throwing the whole writing team to the meat grinder.

Mac Walters needs to be fired. If I sucked at my job like that, I'd expect to be fired, and I'm not on silly money.

Casey Hudson deserves a second chance. But he needs to learn to promise little and deliver a lot. He promised the world and delivered self pandering crap. Hopefully he will learn from this.

Do what Todd Howard did with Skyrim, talk in facts about what is actually in your game and don't hype it up more than necessary. Wait for release, then brag the hell out of it afterwards once everyone loves it and you're super popular.

I've seen an interview where Casey Hudson says that he sat down with Mac Walters at the start of development and they decided on that ending together.  What Weekes did or did not say is not important.  There are plenty of other sources that tell you it was Hudson and Walters who came up with it.  The lead writer and the lead director are responsible for the ending of the game.  A staff writer may or may not have input, but they wouldn't have wrote it.

I agree. Casey Hudson screwed up with the ending fiasco and false advertisment but he deserves a second chance. If it hadn't been for him, there wouldn't have been a mass effect series in the first place. The success of ME1/2 went to his head.

Walters, on the other hand, has proven himself to be a horrible writer. His contributions to the universe are insignificant. He's responsible for the worst part of ME3. Maybe firing him would be a bit extreme, but he deserves nothing less than a demotion. Bioware should give the spot of lead writer to someone who can actually write, and cares about the franchise.

The post simply confirmed what was already believed.

Patrick has said publicly that the ending was done by the lead writer, and I believe Sylvia has said the same as well. Also, Final Hours makes it pretty clear that the ending is the result of collusion between Casey and Mac, while it doesn't contain any hint of it being a team effort.

Do you have evidence of that? If not, then you've just proved Isaac's point about jumping the gun. And is it okay for said fans of the series to threaten Casey and Mac, and call for their jobs?

And to clarify, he posted a series of replies on Twitter claiming that he never made those accusations (Sorry, I can't find the actual Twitter links - They were posted in April):

- 'Director @CaseyDHudson personally suggested a great part of Tuchanka. @macwalterslives tuned Rannoch to fix things I missed.'

- 'Rumors about what I "really thought" about the ending are untrue. Please don't use me in attacks on my coworkers and friends.'

- 'Made whole game as part of a team. And when we release Ending DLC, we'll be doing that as team, too. Thanks.'

Also, look at the link I posted a page back and you can see him still denying it as recently as 3 days ago. But enough. I'm not jumping into a petty, pointless arguement. In fact, I'm going to make my exit from this thead.
