Man, for some reason I feel compelled to go on the Discover Channel.

Because obnoxious people thought behaving like ****s was acceptable. Because people think being entertained is important enough to make personal attacks and insults on professionals. Sorry Bioware community, you behaved like jerks and you will be treated like jerks.

Because people continuously harass, threaten, and insult them. These same people complain that they aren't interacting enough with the community, but all they are doing is forcing Hudson and Walters to cloister up, avoiding their once active twitter accounts and other outlets. I am sure that they are acutely aware of all the criticism they are receiving, so actively calling for them to be physically assaulted only hurts the image of the fans.

This.

N

They lied about ME3, so what else they deserve ?

Add: Ofc not death threats but insults and harass are accurate to what´s promises they made and left just as promises...

Two wrongs don't make a right.

Two negatives make a positive.

Not in addition.

And I don't remember anyone ever claiming to be casey's "fan" before or after the endings.

To clarify, he said "I didn't write that." That does not mean it is not true. And uppon further questioning the only thing both he and chris ever said (even when a fan clearly asked and I quote "Fine he didn't write it but is it true?") All they ever said was "He didn't write it."

A noncommital answer to try and dispell the mith without throwing the whole writing team to the meat grinder.

I never claimed it, but I was a fan of his, he directed Mass Effect 1, which was my favourite game of all time. Still is.

It's funny, I have more faith in BioWare now than I have ever had before. I don't think these endings will be the last we here of Shepard. Not that there will be a sequel. But I do believe there will be something more going on here with Shepard's ultimate fate. S/he just didn't receive the love I thought the character would, the love that the character deserves.

So basically you have faith now because you're all out of options?

This entire paragraph reads as Ode to Desperation. :-)

Yep, blind faith, it's all I have left.

Mainly Gamble's infamous comment "if you knew what we had in store, you'd hold onto your copies forever"

I don't think that is insinuating they're going to canonize synthesis, if you know what I mean...

And yes, yes, PR and all that. Like I said, BLIND faith.

That was clarified by a moderator as being about multiplayer.  I wouldn't get your hopes up.

LMAO! He is actually in the photo! OMG that's gold. And Wally isn't far off, just a little bit vertical and a tincy bit to the right, from Casey.

Ditto. This should be a new game on BSN. Can you do another one with Walters?

Hmmm... sure, mistakes were made, by several parties to the debate. But it's not like BioWare are above criticism. They are not our feudal lords. And they sure went out of their way to press their disgruntled fans' buttons, what with the "Biggest Fan Reaction Ever!!!" stuff and such. People all over being jerks. Hell, I'm a real dick and even I could do better PR than these professionals.

Are you talking about PW? If so, he dismissed that claim.

Regardless if the post was real or not, the point is that people jumped on it and took it as 100% truth. Insulting Casey & Mac started from that moment, that post gave people "the enemy" they wanted, someone to blame everything on. Many people didn't even wonder whether the post was real and those who thought it was real didn't wonder whether PW was actually telling 100% truth or perhaps trying to wash hands. The only point was that there was finally a gossip to jump on and start insulting someone personally. Childish as **** in every sense.

100% this.

These two use to be very vocal with the press so their silence for the last six months is odd.

maybve because they have a family they want to spend time with? i know it sounds crazy but there are people who do have such a thing

I don't think personal attacks are warranted. What is not warranted is the PR campaign which

a) Told us that the endings were "fine" and we didn't "get" them
B) Advertised ME3 with the "most talked about story" after the controversy

It's like if you order a menu of the day in the restaurant because you trust them and they give you a plate of s#!! for a dessert the third time you come over. Then when you complain they tell you that your taste-buds are off and they'll make it up to you by putting whipped cream on top. At the same time "The restaurant is now the most talked about in the city, go check it out!" ad campaign starts showing up.

They aren't hiding, they're just not using the BSN forums.

Pretty smart actually. Even if they dropped in to say hi people here would go "WHY DO THE ENDINGS SUCK BALLS YOU A**HOLE GO DIE IN A DITCH SOMEWHERE WITH YOUR ART UP UR ASS ZOMG FOHEFBPEURHF{E!!!."

An exaggeration, but you get my point.

Mac Walters needs to be fired. If I sucked at my job like that, I'd expect to be fired, and I'm not on silly money.

Casey Hudson deserves a second chance. But he needs to learn to promise little and deliver a lot. He promised the world and delivered self pandering crap. Hopefully he will learn from this.

Do what Todd Howard did with Skyrim, talk in facts about what is actually in your game and don't hype it up more than necessary. Wait for release, then brag the hell out of it afterwards once everyone loves it and you're super popular.

Well said.

I'm not sure the OP means hiding from "here" as in on the BSN.

Even before the ending they never visited the BSN as far as I know.

I think its more referring to their twitter accounts, their absence at Pax 3 months or so ago, their absence at SDC and their absence with Pax prime as well.

These are events that Casey Hudson would all but jump to every chance he got.

Now all we have is gamble.
