Regardless if the post was real or not, the point is that people jumped on it and took it as 100% truth. Insulting Casey & Mac started from that moment, that post gave people "the enemy" they wanted, someone to blame everything on. Many people didn't even wonder whether the post was real and those who thought it was real didn't wonder whether PW was actually telling 100% truth or perhaps trying to wash hands. The only point was that there was finally a gossip to jump on and start insulting someone personally. Childish as **** in every sense.

Part of that is because they "went into hiding" though, if you try to sweep your problems under the rug... kind of thing. But it was a massive backlash, so I could understand them not wanting to address people straight away.
Although it's been a while, this thread, in itself, is evident that the BSN is still not ready for a fan and dev synthesis.
That's partly because of the fans still feeling hurt and betrayed from promises and letdowns. But also because the devs need to understand that the people that are still left here on the BSN, still talking about the endings, are the ones that truly care about Mass Effect and can't let it go. They want it to get the ending *it* deserves, and If BioWare really didn't like all the attention, they'd make another public statement stating the new direction they are taking with Mass Effect.

That's just it, everything's so hush hush. For a long time we've known what their next projects are going to be with ME and DA trilogys. We know DA3 is in the works, apparently. So what's next for Mass Effect? I wonder..

I'm not sure the OP means hiding from "here" as in on the BSN.

Even before the ending they never visited the BSN as far as I know.

I think its more referring to their twitter accounts, their absence at Pax 3 months or so ago, their absence at SDC and their absence with Pax prime as well.

These are events that Casey Hudson would all but jump to every chance he got.

Now all we have is gamble.

They're done. I'm very surprised they are still hired in all honesty. Obviously Bioware wasn't going to throw them to the wolves right away, but words will have been said. I doubt Mac Walters will be trusted with another major project.

this would be my honest guess,

its kinda normal that when you screw up this big, you get fired for it,
its also normal that if you've been loyal to your company, they will protect your reputation anyways.

I dont wish them to get fired, I just dont whant them anywere near a game i might like.

there was absolutely Zero reward for finishing the game pre EC. readers trust anyone....geez
its like they tried to depress people, seriously. 
and the EC only did the absolute least and worst possible when lookin att what people accually asked for. imho

Gee, could it be the intense ribbing by most of the fans they talk to, or they fact that anything they say, even an apology, would make the fanbase furious.

Also, they aren't hidding, they're in edmonton canada, doing their jobs and than going home, living life as they always have, the only thing is they stopped telling people what they do on twitter and stuff.
