Can We Agree That Multiplayer Shouldn't Be Linked To Singleplayer?

I have two issues that I'm miffed about so I will state them

1. What is the point of galactic readiness I mean me and my n7 forces could be kicking the reapers ass in every location across the galaxy beating their ass back and have 100 percent at all locations but in the end were still getting completely destroyed or our forces are not shown truely giving the reapers a good fight despite having 100 readiness at all locations and the n7 forces giving them hell

2. How does more n7 soldiers on the battlefield or readiness effect what kind of ending options their are espically when alot of them are not scientists but soldiers on the battlefield why would this change or alter what the crucible does?

the N7 keep strategic vantage points and gather Intel stuff that can help build the crucible, By more time , out maneuver the reapers.

they are important cogs in the machine

And i liked that it was linked, it wasn't just mp for mp's sake , it matters and helps to remind that shepard isn't the only one fighting any more

Yes but if the forces are beating the reapers back in each location why are they still getting destroyed by the reapers O_O?

On vanilla game - very bad idea. They fixed it afterwards, now requiring only 3200 EMS points, which can easily be achievable in SP alone.

MP should never effect SP.

Spec Ops are vital to assymetric warfare. They allow us to take and hold points vital to the war effort while our mainline troops engage the main body of Reaper forces.

10000 EMS here and pointless

If the MP had game modes that felt like we was helping out then I would say it should be linked, but Horde mode is stupid for a tie in

The point is that the galactic readiness goes down. So in order to keep it at 100% you have to play multiplayer.

Having you play multiplayer works out for them in a number of ways. It shows you online so they can brag about you playing their game. It also may get you spending money on commendation packs.

Multiplayer is how they're making their money and they make more money by tying it into singleplayer. They don't care whether you like it or not, that is the sad truth.

Go look at some comments from Bioware, they justify anything that makes them a dollar.

Sorry shields but this^

I liked that it's linked. It gives people a little more canon information in Hacket's speeches of the operations to keep things feeling alive and like a warzone. And it's not just playing MP for the sake of it.

In fact, I would go the opposite way to say that it should have MORE of an impact on SP.

I don't mean EMS or Galactic Readiness. I mean winning ops should help us get SP dlc that we can use to properly refuse the Cataylst and win.

Multiplayer should have no effect on single player beyond maybe unlocking the odd weapon or armor set.

What do you mean with not linked?

Like having nothing to do with it and hundreds of protheans running around?

Or like removing readiness and the war assets?

If it is the second I am pro removing the readiness.

That highly trained operatives drive back small reapers in some tactical locations, doesnt have to mean that you win the war. You never encounter an actual reaper at these locations.

So sorry I only agree partly.

If anything, I think multi-player should tie in with the single-player part more. Like story-based multiplayer sessions, actual story based objectives. Sort of like Portal 2's coop.

I do agree that having to play multiplayer to unlock the best ending was a terrible idea, but they fixed it with the EC.

I would of liked that when you import your characters the game would insert that character into a cutscene during the final mission

but that might of been dificult with the Geth and Quarians

exactly, thats my biggest issue with the MP. If they wanted it to be linked to the SP then why not do a story-base MP game but instead we get Gears of War horde mode

I'm not talking about the maps, I already they was gonna put the MP maps in the SP in some way. I'm saying they could have made the Multiplayer games similar to some of the missions you do in the SP, not just some Horde mode where you just shoot people for 11 Waves, its too bland and it dies fast

I'm sure I'm not your only true friend, unless you were being sarcastic, of course.

But.. sorry, much like the milky way galaxy in ME3 I'll take anything that lets us properly defeat the Reapers, without sacrificing other people's rights or freedoms.

MP is a great avenue to help achieve this goal *shrug*.

Well it was a terrible idea to have to play multiplayer to unlock the 'best' ending, the people who thought that up should be tarred and feathered, but EC made it so multiplayer is irrelevant to single player.

Unless they make an ending option that actually requires very high ems then I'm content with just ignoring it.

Bioware should have taken the resources they wasted on multiplayer and invested them in creating a more artistic ending.
