oh and 7.5 is a mediocre score, underlined by the comments in the review itself. Of course if they were singing the praises of this piece of DLC then the writer would not be so "pretentious" right?

no a 6 is a mediocore score.

Not in IGN world, a 6 would be a travesty. See the H8te out of 10 kerfuffle.

care to tell that to developers especially EA developers that consider everything below a 9 not meeting requirements? not my words mind you...that is what they say. Also, as we score in Europe (at least Italy)6: passable ( the threshold of sufficiency anything less is failing)7: discrete ( OK)8: distinct (above the average)9: excellent (self explanatory) 10: optimal (perfect)7 is still mediocre, passable, but mediocre

7.5 is goodany way DLC verry rarely scores very high Arrival only  Scored a 7.0The ridicouls standers devlopers set for their scores has no bearing on what the reveiwers decide to give. If they were going to say it was bad or Mediocore, they would of given it a lower scoreas is They gave it a Passing score.

passing is not good, passing is mediocre. LotSB scored WAY higher as bioware is capable of. I am not about to excuse them like I would not excuse Vigil, for instance, if they produced something worse than their previous darksiders installments

Also 30 seconds of dialog? LOL. This is why I can't take IGN serious at all. What a joke of a site.

You can't spell "ignorant" without "IGN".

Right you are, Kent.

7.5 is right on good. another .1 lower and it would've fallen into mediocrity.

It only seems like a mediocre score because it's coming from IGN.

Is everybody crying now because Bioware's bribery money isn't significant enough to bleaken their mediocrity?

coming home with a 7+ on my biology (or worse Latin literature) test would elicit a "meh" from my parents not a "good job son“

Pretty much this. 7.5 is good on most scales, IGN typically dishes out much higher for really good games (or paid reviews) or much lower for bad games, or publishers that didn't pay them.

It depends where it is from, I don't follow IGN so have no idea how they rate. On Gamespot anything less than 7.5 for a triple A release basically means that it either doesn't work. has some enormous problems or is downright terrible (they gave Fallout New Vegas a 7.5 on release despite noting the minor detail that it didn't work) and they gave Leviathan a 6.0. That suggests that there is more at play than them just reviewing the DLC.

I certainly can’t speak for any “professional” reviewers and I use that term loosely—but when I give something a 7.- ,it’s usually because I found it passable, but mediocre.

DLC tends to get pretty poor scores. Looking at Metacritic, the best reviewed ones end up averaging 85 rather than 95 like main games

Kind of makes you wonder if the next DLC review will be different if EA buys ad space on IGN.

This review rips on Bioware's strong suit. Essentially, if you're in this for emotional/character attachment, forget it.
