Personal:

Shepard for me, easily. Just the role and strength they've shown to get where they did. Also because it was the first game I could play as a woman and really feel immersed in the role without every other character still referring to me as 'sir' or something. I also love Jennifer Hale's voice acting, but I'm sure that doesn't go unnoticed. Even as a male Shep though, I still love Shepard.

Just the many different ways you can play the character, from the noble and paragon things they can say to cheeky and renegade things they can say also.

I love this protagonist and I feel that Shepard deserves more love from BioWare in the final hours of the game!

Just opted to stick with Bioware. Too sleepy for more. The Mass Effect series as a whole is too far removed from a traditional RPG to put Shepard on the list.
