Higher damage per shot represents more rewarding with headshot.(risky too)
High rated fire weapons may be better for boss, but it is hard to make their entire bullets landing on one small enemy head.

For me it's kind of random.. I still haven't figured out my optimal shooting strategy.
If I do make a headshot, the target goes splat. If not, I have to wait for the next round to ready. Problem for me is that the iron sight on the Saber provides too little zoom.

These 3 rifles all have very decent accuracy and lack of recoil. 

Why use Saber?

That's raw damage doesn't paint the entire picture, that's assuming all bullets hit, discounting armor DR and as others have said headshots.

I love the name and the weapon itself Since the Demo (Although i cannot unlock it).

When i unlocked in the full game, i was so happy. So strong as it names. ANd works better than Harrier and Mattock

The Mattock and Harrier don't pop heads nearly as quickly as the Saber does.
Also, the Saber just sounds badass. Both the name and the firing sound.

Because a slow firing battle rifle is completely redundant from the existence of a fast firing assault rifle with more DPS, right?

if you play long enough you have to try to use different guns to mix things up even if you hate them at first, then after you have mastered them they are not so bad. i hated the scorpion until i figured the best place and way to use it and now it's a gun i use a lot on gold to control crowds (hint: shooting slow armored targets that are surrounded with enemies)

Holy ****, yes, this. Regular use of the Saber will seriously improve your aim.

The Harrier and Mattock cannot OSK an enemy with a headshot. The Saber has greater effective range than either, and staggers enemies a lot more frequently than the Harrier and Mattock. The Saber is capable of dealing more damage before you need to make a trip to the ammo crate.

Since someone is going to bring it up...

That's actually pretty funny, seeing as the Saber s**** all over the Crusader, and the Valiant.

The point of it is to teach you how to shoot.
It isn't something you can spray and pray with.
Just like the Crusader is a sniper/shotgun, the Saber is a sniper/AR. But is better than the Crusader.
