@merchantGOL don't remind me about what they did to fallout >_<

i loved Fo3 *shrugs*

A lot of fans who played the original when it 1st launched were quite angry with what they did with fallout 3...  As someone who grew-up on fallout and games of its ilk, I never really saw the outrage.  It was clearly a reboot anywho, and the direction the games were going with Tactics, was pretty clear they were completely lost with what to do with the title.

I mean, ya, Fallout 3 was completely different from the originals but that was kinda expected to me.  Although, I did think NV was a lot better(despite the terrible, terrible, bugs).

I have to say this whole conversation is a weird one... Comparing Skyrim to a game like ME3 is like comparing a car to a building... You clearly are expecting different things from each of them.

it started as a comaparison to devlopers.

The fundamental differences between the games, would probably also aplly to how developers each handle their games. So even still, the comparisons could only really be character based, and unless someone here has an uncle who works for nintendo. >.>

well the comparison is in regards to how the  treat their fans and deal with feedback and mistakes the op implied tha tbecause they gave you mounted combat for free in a  patch  and dint say they were giving it to you for free they were better then bioware

considering i have skyrim for free on  the ps3 and  i can barely play this was a  assertion that needed to be draged into the light for the falcity it is.

Mass Effect 3 - MP has been totally busted since the 1st month of release

Skyrim - Like all Bethesda games, they're still busted after about a dozen patches

Don't tell me about being immersed in the lore. I can't give a sh*t about the lore of the game if I'm crashing after 30 minutes of gameplay or somehow my character glitches out of the level. "Oh, but Bethesda gave us mounted combat for free whereas Bioware has to charge $5 for extra weapons." Please, cry me a river, build a suspension bridge, and jump off of it. Both games are overrated messes and rely on "additional content" to keep people sated (or at least try).

When is Bethesda going to introduce some characters to Skyrim?

I'll be looking forward to DLC that populates their lifeless gameworld.

i agree Obsidian is another company i like but if soem oen were to go any where and asser that they were these godsends to gamers i would have quite allot to say about that, as it took  me a month to beat FNV and not because i wasnt playing it constanly

Well ya but to argue this point by doing the exact same thing is...a bit of an odd way to go about it.  And ya... Beths engine apaprently doesnt work good with the PS3 version.  Apaprently the PS3 might not even get anymore DLC because of the issues with the PS3 version.

It's amusing when people disparage Skyrim. It blew ME3 away in sales while launching during the competitive holiday season.

Yes, cause sales are everything. ME3 sold more than ME2 or ME1, guess it's better than both huh?

In every way outside of plot and adding on even more cheesy one linters, I would say yes, ME3 is the best one(just plot is a big deal to me).

OP has a point. To add on here are just some things i love about skyrim.
-The dialogue trees are so amazing.
-npc voice acting is out of this world.
-They have memorable characters.
-It has got one of the best rpg main plotlines in the whole wide world.
- The people in the world acknowledge what you have accomplished even if you did complete the game.
It makes me very happy

That's not fair. The same can be said and applied to any other game, it's not the same genre. This is just Bioware elitism/bigotry. It's like me saying Metallica sucks because: lack of keyboard, lyrics don't rhyme often, guitar and bass too aggressive, etc.

its not fair to critiize a game for things the devlopers didnt bother to put effort into?

and personaly after fo3 bethsada has no excuse. cause they can do it when they try.

Okay in this case let me add to the things I love about Mass Effect.

-The world is huge and exploration is incredible.
-I love being able to do whatever I want, at any time instead of being forced into some bespoke linear story.
-I love being able to create my own character instead of having to play as a pre-determined one.
-I love the attention to detail.
-I love the purity of the roleplaying.

See? Not fair is it, when I criticize the game for lacking things that it doesn't focus on?

ME3 didn't outsell ME2, not yet.

What a game sold is totally irreverent to how good it is.

Skyrim has a number of issues ranging from gameplay, story and characters,to performance. As great as it is and it is great, I think Skyrim is one of the most over hyped games ever.. Not to say Mass 3 isn't without it's flaws.

Ultimately what this it comes down to is what you want from you game; Bethesda games are all about exploration and immersing yourself into that world. BioWare games are all about telling you a story and immersing you in that story through it's characters. Both Mass Effect and The Elder Scrolls do what they set out to do batter than almost any other game series, I personally prefer BioWares way of doing things.

i agree with every point, at no point did i ever say Skyrim was straight up bad, but the assertion that bethsada is perfect with the **** theyve pulled esppcaily incomparison to bioware is wrong and needed to be called out on.

Beth do a lot of stuff right but they are far form perfect. Skyrim has this aura around it that blinds a lot of people to their faults, it really does seem to have one of the biggest fanboy followings of any game. And with the way Bio has droped the ball a little of late (DA2 and the ME3 ending mess) it only reinforces Beth's god like standing in it's fans eyes.

"It blew ME3 away in sales while launching during the competitive holiday season."

That is the only reason he gave, the only reason. Had he listed story or open worldness or some other factor I wouldn't be bothering him, but he listed sales, and only sales.

I would say Skyrim is a little bit more complex than the linear corridor shooter ME3. So bugs are more forgivable in Skyrim.

And for people who aren't pleased with content, there is a something called Skyrim Nexus where you can find hundreds of mods. Skyrim is a game where you profit from buying the PC version.

The ME games have all sold about the same with ME2 (the most well liked of the trilogy) still holding the top spot.

EA wanted ME3 to sell over five million copies (LOL) and it still hasn't outsold ME2 where as Skyrim has sold over 12 million.

Skyrim has the very same thing with an exponential amount of more weapons, armor, rooms and landscape. Not to mention loot.
