I honestly hope she's not a LI or companion. I would like to have Leliana back. Cassandra, so far in DA2 and the movie, holds no appeal for me. If we end up with ten full companions or something like that, I'd take her and maybe they'll change my mind about her. I'd expect find something interesting about her, but so far, no. I don't want her. Same goes for Cullen, though I'd like to see serial killer Cullen and ruthless Ferelden Templar leader Cullen (both from DA:O's epilogues) acknowledged right alongside any more positive version of him that shows up.

Well, Leliana can't be an LI. I hope. Cassandra would make a respectable substitute.

Leliana was already romanceable in DA:O, so she's off limits as LI. Though, I'd gladly have her back as a non romanceable companion.

I'd be perfectly fine with that. ;)

.. It'd be even better if she was non-romanceable if you ended up with her in Origins on your import, but she was romanceable if you did not. I'd like to see all states recognized.

Hasn't the Warden been "gone" for a couple of years as of the end of DA2?

Even if Leliana was in a romance with the Warden, maybe she's moved on by the time DA3 begins.

Hey things happen. People grow apart, they move on. Most people don't live happily ever after. Like i said, Leliana- Cassandra- and the Inquisiter, makes three. Image IPB

Who says the war starts after the end of DA2, anyway? Year seven is the last we see of Hawke, but the Seekers don't catch up to Varric until year ten, obviously after conflict has already flared up. And who says that Leliana isn't simply protecting the Warden?

Personally, I very much hope we get to see our wardens wherever we left them, at least for that bit. Doesn't mean Leliana can't continue to go off on her own adventures and pursue her own duties, which she's been doing since DA:A anyway.

Well that's just it, isn't it?  It's all a bunch of question marks and blank spaces.  What I'm trying to get at is that, depending on what actually ends up filling in those blanks, there's no reason Leliana (or any LI from Origins or DA2 really) couldn't be available as a LI for a new protagonist in DA3.

True. But if that were the case, I'd still want the option to reinforce her potential pre-existing relationship with the Warden. I don't want my Origins game states overwritten simply by the passage of a few years, y'know? ;-)

edit: obviously, same goes for all potential LIs

That's an excellent point.  You're right former game choices shouldn't be overwritten... they should be deliberatly catered to!

I think it would be pretty neat to import different characters and compare and contrast a (for example) Leliana that romanced the Warden with one that didn't.  We could even have an angle of romantic rivalry between former and current protagonists.  There's a lot of fun and kinda wild things a good writing team could do with that sort of premise.

If that happened, I would not stop anyone who wanted to place the heads of whomever made that decision on a pike.

Even though I'm not a fan of the Chantry, I do think it would be cool to have her on the team.

To be honest she, Flemeth, and Isabella were the only characters I really liked in DA2.
