I've said it before but i strongly suggest watching all of the cutscenes on youtube over actually playing the game The combat is really bad outside of boss fights and it gets grindtastic later on.OdanUrr wrote...
Well, I'm playing XIII at the moment. It looks like it's just a series of combats strung together via cutscenes and, at times, some bad dialogue. I mean, "Moms are tough," really? Still, I'm interested in the character of Lightning and her sidekick.

You are so screwed later on in the game. Where are you right now anyways? The Mad Hanar wrote...
Sometimes, when I am really bored of the combat, I just run past all of it. It's reaaally easy to do.

Not really. There are people that purposely go through the whole game with no crystarium use. It's possible, you just need to use the right items and paradigms.

It's been a couple days since I played, so I don't remember the specific part, but I am about 13 hours into the game.

How the hell? Well I am going from my own experience here. I remember a gigantic difficulty spike on that damn ship and I don't want him to get stuck in the same place. I suppose it's silly of me to assume everyone is as bad at games as I am.Ghost Lightning wrote...

Eh, I get enough Crystarium to get me past the bosses. I probably do about 70% of the fights.

Well, if combat becomes a chore, I can always move on to XIII-2.

And now we're here, two weeks later and Final Fantasy Thirteen has arrived in stores, brainwashing good people with the ideas that seem so complex, yet are so simple, even Seival could write a better love story about some girl who didn't know how to dye her hair autumn, but got pink instead. How does that even happen? Like, did the writers not for see where this will lead them to?
The notion that one believes in pink hair is the biggest illusion in gaming history since Dragon Age felt it needed to find it's origin, so it went through a gate that ended up clashing with Baldr, son of Odin. It was a bit too human for my tastes, that damn game. If only. So lonely.

There is nothing to like about the Final Fantasy series. FF7 was a story about some lost child who lost his space ship and he ended up becoming a ghost to lead the protagonist to his ultimate demise. The protagonist's name was The Shepard, strange, The being the first - it was trying to have a unique experience back in 2009, when the game was released - though, even back then - it would only release strictly on the PSP-GO, for reasons unknown.

How could you not get it? Don't you understand how dumb that dye job makes the whole experience? Gameplay is horrible. Graphics aren't better than Beyond. Why? Because the developers couldn't model the hair a color that makes sense.Angrywolves wrote...

They even though of stripping down the key components of a fine FPS. First, they add in a multiple controlled party-based combat system that makes no sense to the lore, you can't even use the /dance emotes to summon Simba because then you can't open up your hearts to a true kingdom. Then they try to advertise that Lightning is actually a nickname for Purple Rain, which in turn - didn't bode to well with the Ni No Kuni fans (the trueJRPGFPS). They will continue to release monthly games just to please the waifu-hungry fans that call themselves fantasy lovers.
Reezy man, you cray.

Exactly! What I'm trying to understand is why they took out the weapon customization for these new games. I used to have all kind of attachments that transformed my sword into guns. Like a gunblade type of deal. But now that you can't find the kingdom they dropped that.

Toriyama damaged the franchise I know that. The hair has nothing to do with it.
I presume since the management shakeup that there will be changes in the FF franchise. They should bring back Matsuno at least.
But we'll see.

I'm trying to play through FF13-2, but 6 hours in and the story isn't grabbing me yet. Nice combat and I like the monster use, but I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to finish it.
