I don't think even the Persona games would impress him.
Funny you mention that, I always wondered how he'd react to SMT: Lucifer's Call a.k.a. Nocturne.

At the very least he reviewed Catherine, but then again it isn't a JRPG, but he actually seemed to like the gameplay though.
I'm getting my butt pwnd on hard mode. Here I thought I lost interest in this game, I think this new mode will be a game changer. Just have to use new strategies this time around.
That's good to hear. I play the game in small bursts and have finished Luxerion and Yusnaan and I'm already getting kinda bored with the "side quests for a day, main quest for a day" pattern I've fallen into. I like the combat, and the story, as ridiculous as it seems so far, but it is getting a little dull.
I'll probably beat it once, maybe try Hard Mode but I don't think I'll hold on to the game after that.
So 500 years after the end of the 2nd game everything is fucked, everyone from the previous games are either emo or evil or both, the entire setting is pretty much completely different to the point it might as well be its own game, and somehow hopes a kid again and oracle from batman, and all that I gleamed from the first 30 minutes of the game.
Question I have to ask is, does anything think this game is good?
Well I enjoy the gameplay. The plot is kinda ehhh though. I'm at least glad the the characters are aware of how moronic they were in past games at the time.
Well at least there's that.
I like the game, I just don't like some of the decisions they made. The combat/garb system is pretty fun. The Main story is ludicrous but I like it. Hunting around for sidequests is meh. Honestly, the only part of the game so far that has made me facepalm was Chocolina. Evidently thats where I draw the line.

Slight spoilers.
FFXIII - Two worlds. Pulse is larger but dead of people. Cocoon is smaller and more advanced and full of people. Protagonists escape Cocoon, explore Pulse, and return to Cocoon to try to save it from a grand conspiracy. Cocoon almost crashes down and there's a mass evacuation onto Pulse. Next game begins.
FFXIII-2 - Humanity gets to spread through Pulse once again. Cocoon is also gradually populated. One protagonist comes from the present day, while the other comes from the end of the world several 100s of years from now. Both time travel to help humanity. Humanity flourishes and builds a city over a few 100s of years. Cocoon is set to collapse and cause disaster, so a new Cocoon is set to be built. It is finished, but this was all part of a larger plan, causing a different disaster. The 'visible' (mortal, order) and 'invisible' (immortal, chaos) worlds merge.
FFXIII:LR - Humanity exists on 'Pulse' (but really a whole new type of realm) but they can't naturally die. A different society is formed, and over a long time ('time' barely existing), becomes what we see in the trailers, a world that's 'lost hope'. This extends to the former protagonists as well: Snow, Noel, Fang, Vanille, Sazh. Lightning returns as a sort of goddess (a magical person in XIII, and a demigoddess in XIII-2) working with Hope to acquire enough 'souls' of humanity to take them to a new world/universe and leave this decaying one behind.
The message seems to be about 'fighting fate'.
In the first game, if no one fought fate, 'God' would have came down, killed all humans, and wiped things away (I think? It's been a while). But they did fight fate, and changed things just enough to ensure that humanity survives.
In the second game, if no one fought fate, we'd have the end up humanity at some point down the road, leading to Noel's timeline. But they did fight fate, and changed things just enough to ensure that humanity is preserved.
In this final game, if no one fought fate, we'd.. well, that's spoilers
. Suffice it to say, that by fighting fate, we give hope to everyone.
All three games are more centered around Lightning (but also Serah, and others) fighting a preordained fate and succeeding just enough to truly help humanity, instead of doom it.
I don't love the games, but I can see where they're coming from in their wacky stories, and I'm sure that if they were smaller bit SNES/PS1 games, people WOULD have totally bought into them and loved it. As more realistic (graphically, etc) games, there was too much dissonance between expectations and what we got.
Gonna start the newgame+ on hard tomorrow. Sadly I'm having so little time to play ;/
Anyone got the outfits from the challenges yet? All the time I used to find the LRFF13 user everywhere, now that the challenges are beaten and online, I haven't found it once, haha! Tough luck =p
Some of the DLCs out this week look neat. Can't purchase them yet though.

I finally got the Helter Skelter last night! After 6 days trying to find the right user =p
I got the Flower of Battle and Yuna's Sphere Hunter garb on the jp version.
I recommend the Sphere Hunter one. Nice skills, nice stats, also the shield is one of the best so far.
The Sphere Hunter's unique ability looks like a better version of Attack, though it costs more ATB. I'm not sure I'm ready to use that garb yet, I still need better accessories and the ones that boosts her speed maxed.
Yeah, that's good to have in mind. Since I'm already at end game level, I'm just browsing and testing the garbs, hehe ^^'
I think one of the best garbs to have as a kick start is the Soldier 1st Class!
I might get the PC version on a sale ![]()
