And mainly one or two folks from each other game, like Aauron, Amarant, Shadow, Squall.

I'ld be here listing for awhile if I do them all, but mostly FF7.

A note on Squall mainly like him for the crap he gets into, its teh lulz.

I'll do 2 from each game:

Final Fantasy IV - Kain, Cecil
Final Fantasy VI - Sabin, Setzer
Final Fantasy VII - Cloud, Cid (&^&$^&)
Final Fantasy VIII - ugh.... none? *sighs* Okay fine. I guess Irvine and Chicken-Wuss (aka Zell)
Final Fantasy IX - Vivi, Steiner
Final Fantasy X - Auron (obviously), Wakka (cause of his goofy accent, John Dimaggio rules.  He also did Kimahri's voice)
Final Fantasy XII - Balthier, Vaan (the only main character that didn't bug me since FFVII)
Final Fantasy XIII - Didn't play it long enough to know or get attached to anyone.

All other Final Fantasy's I didn't play or had stock characters.

Squall Leonhart.
He's a lone wolf but doesn't suffer from schizophrenia like Cloud.
He saves the world but isn't an ass about it like Zidane.
His dad is great.
Has a good sense of fashion but his hair isn't a ridiculous mess.
Has a real romance plot instead of just hints.
His girlfriend's great too.
Despite reports to the contrary, he does say more than just '....Whatever.'

FFI - the "tceles b hsup" brooms. Yeah, there's a lot to choose from here.
FFIV - Cecil & Edge
FFV - uh... Galuf?... wow, I remember practically nothing regarding these characters.
FFVI - Locke & Edgar
FFVII - Cait Sith, because (and ONLY because) of his brilliant line, "I can still move more." Not a fan of FF7.
FFVIII - hmm. Laguna? Yeah. Laguna.
FFIX - Vivi. I wanted to hug him and squeeze him and call him George.
FFX - Auron and Lulu, with honorable mention to Quinton Flynn's Isaaru.
FFXII - Balthier and Fran, but mostly Balthier. Dat voice.
FFXIII - move along, nothing to see here...

Well I'm not a huge fan of FF but I'll play along.

The characters that I did like were Cloud, Vincent Valentine(I think that was his name?), Cecil, Fran(how could you not like her...seriously?), Auron, and Sephiroth.

Oh yeah, Biran and Yenke Ronso are also some of my favorites. Hell, the whole Ronso tribe on Mt. Gagazet are awesome. I was legitimately pissed the first time I played FFX and found out Seymour killed almost all of them.

Not at the game or the devs of FFX, but at Seymour himself.

And he still didn't die there! The only good thing about facing him a fourth time inside Sin was the theme that played there.

Also, Fran. Fran is ****ing awesome. A lot of Viera are ****ing awesome.

Agreed. Also Reddas sacrificing himself to destroy the Sun-Cryst, in atonement for nuking Nabudis was bad*ss.

Everything about Reddas and Dr Cid in XII was great. (well apart from probably the former in battle)
