Hello, my game is crashing every time right after the Mass Effect intro screen (in mass effect 2, obviously,) right before the "Press any key" screen. I was using the game fine before, and it's all messed now.

I have tried running in compatibilty mode, disabling desktop composition, disabling Mass Effect from connecting to the internet, every fix I could find by surfing the interwebs but nothing helped. If it's relevant I bought the game on Steam.

My relevant specs are as follows

Nvidia GeForce GTX 560
AMD FX 6100 6 core processor

Can't think of anything else that would be relevant, but will update the thread with any info that is deemed necessary.

Thanks anyone who's willing to take the time to help me out here, very frustrating issue.

EDIT: Just tried the fix in the FAQ of changing the location of player1.prf as well as changing the location of my save files, neither proved successful.
