Anyone who's played the game at least once should be aware of the fact that there are occasions in the game where Hawke can only take a specific action if they are of a certain alignment. For example, only diplomatic Hawkes can rally the guards to take out Fell Orden on the Wounded Coast in Act 2. Would anyone care to share their personal favorites? Maybe we could make a list of them.

My personal favorite out of the bunch was having an aggressive Hawke sucker punch the demon in the Deep Roads at the end of Act I. Made me giggle.

Here's what I can recall thus far:

Aggressive:
- Convince the one Tal-Vasoth to fight with you to defeat the others in the caves in Act I (?).
- Punch out the demon at the end of Act I.
- Intimidate Gascard into fighting Quentin in Act II instead of joining him.

Diplomatic:
- Convince Danyla's daughter to stand down and not try to kill the former werewolves.
- Rally the guards on the Wounded Coast to take out Fell Orden in Act II.
- Convince Gascard to fight Quentin instead of joining him in Act II.

Sarcastic:
- Convincing the thugs that there's a fire on the docks to get them to leave in Act I.
- If they solo-ed the end of the Viscount's quest near teh end of Act II, can monologue a bunch of random gibberish.

It's been many months since I last played DA2 and I've only played as funny Hawke, so I can't remember all too well the alignment-specific action.

I'd imagine just about any and all of that Hawke's specific actions wouldn't even be actions...more of him/her saying something that amuses themselves and pisses everybody else off.

damn I never tried that (punching the demon) but I guess I can go back and do that. Some of my favorite moments were:

(Aggressive) threatening the harbormaster to give up Martin's manifest.
(Diplomatic) convincing Gascard to side against Quentin

Unsure if this is a special option for the sarcastic Hawke or a regular one, but during the scene with Hubert and that Fereldan who's been stealing from them, you can try to keep Hubert from killing the guy by saying the baddies threatened his family...and his dog...his DOG Hubert! You know how Fereldan's feel about their dogs!

And there is an aggressive option that also rallies the guards against Fell Orden, but it makes Hawke come off as a complete ass and one I don't use, but gives rivalry with Aveline if you are going that route with her.

For anyone that plays as a Sarcastic Hawke, if you can, solo the end of Following the Qun (in the chantry) at the end of Act II. Hawke's monologue to him/herself after leaving the Chantry is priceless.

Hands down helping Ser Varnell take down the qunari warriors that are stalking you rather than kill off his Andrastian peasants (aggressive). As you know the qunari end up attacking Kirkwall anyway just as Petrice always said and it's seldom wrong to save approximately a hundred lives. Even if they are mooks I can't help but pity them as they attack the Champion's squad with their pitchforks in regular clothing arguably misled by their leaders. I'd much rather kill qunari. They seek to conquer Thedas.

When Tallis is mentioning the lake, she asks what it is called when you kill people and take all their stuff.

Sarcastic Hawke responds: "Adventuring!"

Am I the only that didn't like these at all? In a game that was already severely lacking in the choice department, there really was no need to further limit the few almost significant-ish options the game had.

This is definitely my favourite. Although mostly because of how Merrill intervenes and makes it not work.

"But there's not really a fire, is there?"
"...No Merrill, it's a trick."
"Ooooh, that's very clever then"

I had a good laugh during that scene.

I've seen that point made several times and agree. It's unfortunate when the choice makes a significant difference. Helping Varnell changes how the rest of the qunari scenes in Act 2 play out, even allowing for unique follow up options and gives entirely new conversations in Act 2 and Act 3 (another reason it's the best alignment specific action). It's nice to see the Arishok chipper for a change even if it is Hawke's imminent death that has him in a good mood. It's a shame all this content is locked to probably the least picked tone.

"Your inevitable death holds great promise. I look foward to it. As should you." =]

Yeah, I kinda like that option for the exact same reasons as well, plus the fact that it actually turns Hawke into a somewhat more proactive protagonist, instead of merely a reactive one. I quite like the changed character dynamic between Hawke and Petrice afterwards as well, the whole friends and former co-conspirators thing.

It's these "choices" being locked to certain alignments that leads to most people not even knowing about them, though; I'm certain that quite a few people reading this very topic will go all "Wait, what? You can side with Petrice?"

I haven't played ever done so myself, though, since I can't really be bothered to go through the entire game again.

Choosing the diplomatic when Isabela asks if Hawke wants to beat her up. The reaction from the other party members are priceless.
