The villain of this game is your far distant ancestor, and once you kill him you will create a time paradox and cease to exist, but somehow you will have caused the griffins to remain in the world forever.

Yes. They will be in Dragon Age 3: Back in Time, in which Sandal builds a time machine and sends you through it.

Actually, it turns out Sandal is your illegitimate half-brother/great grandson from far back in the distant future (turned past when it took a wrong turn while speeding). Unfortunately, a besotted Oghren dropped him on his head while on a griffin outride, causing irrevokable mental problems, a penchant for enchanting, and a craving for cheese.

They talk about them alot, but since the game don't support riding we can't even SEE them...
Only diff would be the dwarven Bronto and Elven Halla, but Halla decide who rides where, and Bronto's can't hack it topside... Not as big probs as horses ingame then.... If You'd SEE one ingame, You can BET we'd have a gazillion players here crying "I can SEE it so I wanna RIDE it Waaaaahbwaaaah!"
So no, I don't think they'll put Griffons in here... They fly yeknow... And adding flying to possible travelform is... Nah... Same reason they themselves never added dragonforms for the shapeshifters.
What would stop one to simply fly to where you wanna go? Not many forced and random groundencounters possible then eh?

Turns out Bodahn Fedic is also possessed by demon, explaining why he had a distinct lack of discounts.

-There may be a whole line of Dragon Age games waiting for us, and there probably is.
-Not all of them will be called "Origins". This may actually well be the only one called "Origins", future games will probably be named "Dragon Age: <insert title here>".
-Not all of the Dragon Age games have to be Baldurs' Gate style RPG's. A well developed world, like Thedas is turning out to be, can also be used for a Monkey Island style adventure, a C&C style RTS (remind me again, which company has the experience, the engines and the knowhow to produce those games?), a daggerfall style sandbox-RPG (BIG difference from Baldurs' Gate style), a gryphon close combat simulator, a Hala vs Bronto racing game or even a WoW sized MMO (puke, cough, barf).
So it's pretty safe to say we can expect gryphons in future Dragon Age games. Just probably NOT in Dragon Age: Origins.

Just because the the lore states that griffins are extinct doesn't mean they really are. There are creatures
in the real world that were once thought to be extinct until some
fisherman/hunter snags one. It's a game full of legends and magic, so
who's to say we won't see griffins in the future.
Exactly. Since youre playing in a game with myths and fantasy, the fact that one aspect is considered a legend itself isnt enough Lore-wise to you couldnt have one ingame eventually.

The reason why we will never se them is that players would NEVER let it be enough to SEE one when wardens were known to FLY on'em... And this game doesn't even have HORSES doh!

Okay, now here is actually a good point about NOT having Griffins.
Though I for one who would love to see how Bioware models and textures a Griffin in game - I am not asking for a mount. I would juts be excited to see one in a cutscene or flashback even. Maybe perhaps have a plot related battle where Griffin comes to your aid.
Or If im being really optomistic have a griffion as a summon just to fight alongside you or a Griffin transformation...one can dream

But they need to create a very lost sanctum to hide it,because in game tells about their extinction =/
Dragons were ectinct also. And it's a game not real life they can just write them back in.

Theres a different, the dragons were hunted to the BRINK of extinction while the griffins was extinct.
