Patrick weeks just hinted on twitter that if they carry on making dlc, ME2 squadmate dlc might be made. That convinced me to...buy leviathan and firefight.

The success of Jade's Puzzle Theory thread has gone to her head and made her delusional.

People need to stop holding their wallets and start supporting this company if they ever want anything in regards to the endings changed.

There is absolutely NOTHING stopping them from cutting their losses and running, cancelling future dlc plans.

I don't know about you, but I REALLY don't want to see that happen!

In fact, I would rather support them on blind faith and optimism alone, hoping that they will listen and fix this with future dlc. But for that to happen, people need to get off their "youtube" horses and show BioWare how much you want a better ending for Shepard and for Mass Effect too.

Because at the end of the day, they hold all the cards.

In the same way we all banded together to "hold the line", we need to band together once again to show BioWare just how far we're willing to go. Sure, this blind faith might be a bit dellusional, but I know for a fact that 'holding the wallet', is not going to do anything but bad things.

Hahahaha...

Wait, you're actually serious? Really? OK, sorry to break it to you, but that is about the most retarded idea I've seen all day (and I was busy looking an the Principle of Brain Quantum Mechanics).

Try stepping outside for a moment. You'll see the real world. If Bioware decides to pull the plug on ME3 DLC, too bad, but I'm not gonna keep paying a company that has shown to be unable to deliver products I enjoy on the off chance that they actually make something better at some point in the future.

They've already adamantly stated they will not change the ending. I will not act on hope or faith. I will take them at their word. They don't hold all the cards. They're just sticking to their hand. Hope they're not bluffing.

My insane fanboy delusion has given me some hope for Dragon Age 3. I have no reason to have hope for that project but I do.

the way I see it is if the dlc fails EA will move on past Mass Effect but if it succeeds they will just keep putting out half a** products because they will get money from it. It's sort of a lose lose situation. I would like to think if fans showed there support then they would see we still care about Mass Effect and give us what we really want.

I don't think there is any moving on past ME. If the amount of people who snub Bioware is enough to make ME unprofitable then no other franchise can be profitable either as those same people are snubbing EVERYTHING Bioware makes. It doesn;t matter what they do next, those same people aren't buying it. The next game would have to be something to attract a completely new audience altogether.

I'm done supporting BioWare blindly, but not of because ME3 which I found to be a good game with an ok ending blown out of proportion, but because of DA2 which was honestly disappointing.

Still ME team =/= DA team, and I hear Leviathan is pretty good (party banter in DLC is one of my long lost dreams and it's in) so I'll probably buy it one of this days. As long as they give me quality products I'll buy them, it's that simple.

Now now. No need for that. Jade loves the series as much as any of us and is doing what she feels is best in order to save it. We might dissagree, but that doesn't mean its not commendable no?

At any rate Jade, I've already said my piece, and the ball lies in Biowares Court, we've given them their chances and the "feedback" that they supposedly cherish so very much. I'm not sure if we can ever be more clear "Change This Ending" is rather cut and dry.

Supporting the DLC or not, they know what they have to do. Now the only question is: Will they do it?

That answer can only come from them. And I cannot in good consience give them my money on blind faith allowing them to believe that more people are satisfied with their *ahem* "art" than what they really are.

Sometimes people need to see hard truths. The Bioware team didn't learn this when they did their DA2 DLC's primary complaint of DA2 is railroading the consecuences of decisions, and they did it, on both their DLC's for that game.

Then they canceled their DLC plans.

If Bioware refused to learn then, when they had a fairly simple complaint "stop railroading" I'm not going to hold out much hope when now they have an even simpler complaint "Change the ending"

So yeah, like I said, the ball is in their court now. We've done all we can, the rest HAS to come from them, or not at all.

And if Mass Effect is ALLOWED to die, because that's what it would be on the developers part here, if it is ALLOWED to die, I know for a fact that Bioware itself will be in huge trouble in the coming years.

People don't trust their brand name anymore in a buisness where trust is half the sales, that says a lot.

Good post TS you make good points. However, if we keep allowing these game companies get away with unfulfilled promises on what the game is supposed to deliver, whats to stop them from repeating this in the future. This being the entertainment industry you have to deliver upon your promises and then exceed some if you want to be successful.

I actually thought about this recently. In most countries false advertisement is illegal... And they advertise that there 16 different endings... I believe that one could get their money back from the game, pleading false advertisement (too late now with EC because I think that there is 16 "different" endings now).. That would have send them a message.. but not sure if it would have been possible... perhaps...

After the fact DLC does not count as a finished product. I paid for the vanilla game. The fact that it is free DLC doesn't make it included in my original purchase. And false advertising is apparently legal in the US at least... or is it?

I haven't given up completely on the ME team. The EC clearly showed Walters' wasteland didn't happen so I'm thinking ME4 might be good. As for ME3, yeah. Not spending one penny on that.

Walter's wasteland was retconned. It DID happen.

Thanks, but it's not even about changing it, just adjusting it to just let Shepard win. I respect their art and wouldn't want them to promise themselves by just scrapping the whole thing as I feel that would hurt Mass Effect too.

I just want Shepard and everyone else to be able to win on the galaxy's terms.

otherwise, what's the point of everything else?

Actually if they really had 16 endings, I'd still be playing now, and I'll actually buy the leviathan of dis during one of my many playthroughs. As it stands, I finished the ME3 twice, once before EC, one after EC, and I can only say that it's due to the limited endings that I gave up on playing the the rest of the saved PCs I have from ME1 & 2.

Maybe I'll play it down the road in a year or two, but fat chance of it happening now. The ending was so disappointing, I'm still reeling from it 6 months after finishing the game.
