There have been on going major problems with Mass Effect 3 (ME3) single player and multiplayer game modes on the PS3.  With each new downloadable content (DLC) added, the problems have greatly increased.  The major problems which increase in severity are not limited to this list:  long load times, difficulty and/or inability to create and/or join lobbies, system freezes, unexpected system reboots, game crashes, extreme gaming lag and/or glitching, loss of equipement purchased and used when missions have connection errors, digital/graphical errors and game save file corruption.,
Hopefully, we the consumer, with enough attention to the major problems created by Bioware and/or EA, can fully enjoy the awesome Mass Effect 3 concept.  There will be so much to appreciate when these major problems can be properly explained, reduced and even corrected.  It is my most sincere regard to have the major problems listed resolved with the accountability and responsiblity which is needed by which ever powers are in charge.  Thank you and to the public, please post any related commments, opinions and possible solutions.

P.S
Forgive any typos or grammatical errors.  Also, as of 09-01-2012 at 12pm EDT,  my N7 ranking is number 6 in the world at 10,325.

Wishing us all the best gaming experience for ME3,
Wadidja

I don't think I'll ever buy another cross platform game on PS3 without reading HONEST reviews beforehand about how it runs. I may just pick up an Xbox 360 next time one comes up in a sale, and keep my PS3 for exclusives, cheap deals and of course for blu-ray.

this game is so bad...i went to play the DLC today and accepted the 1.05 patch....it immediately shut my system down and had to do a file restore before the game even loaded up....i literally had the disc in for 5 seconds

so yeah another $10 wasted on DLC that probably won't let me play it

I'm just NEVER buying another BioFail game again. On any platform. I don't own an xbox but I might be getting one soon. Even if I do get an xbox, I'LL NEVER BUY ANOTHER BIOFAIL GAME AGAIN.

<_<

i wish bioware would respond and give us some direction as to how to mitigate these problems. i guess they have nothing to say because they have no idea how to fix or even reduce these problems. too bad that one of my favorite games ever is currently an unplayable piece of junk.

Sounds like your PS3, not the game.

All of these that you've outlined are undeniably major issues, I'm experiencing an issue with trophies not awarding & the counter that defines how many of the required total you have, found in Main Menu\\Extras\\Accomplishments, has also frozen and stopped counting - meaning that the trophies will not award & I cannot gain the Platinum for completing all trophies, despite having done so.
I'm specifically having problems with Explorer & Tour of Duty not awarding. I've done all 6 N7 Missions and had an MP character promoted to War Asset, so have played enough MP to at least award Explorer, but the count is stuck at 2/6 & 1/6.

I've just seen someone else saying that they've been through the game twice, with an imported ME2 character, once on Insanity & and they had not received the Long Service Medal, or the Insanity one.

In the Accomplishments menu, although it is not a Tophy, I have the Unwavering Accomplishment seemingly stuck too. I'm up to Priority: Horizon, in game on Insanity & have completed all of the Galaxy at War side missions & both DLC packs, yet Unwavering is stuck at showing 4/27 Single Player Missions on Insanity.
The Freedom Fighter Accomplishment has not awarded, despite me gathering all of the intel on Eden Prime.
The Prothean Expert Accomplishment has not awarded.

I'm not sure where the No Stone Unturned, Family Matters, Under Pressure & Conspiracy Theorist Accomplishments are supposed to be gained, but I have done absolutely everything in the game up to this point (Priority: Horizon) and have not gained any of these either.

This game is bug ridden to hell & should NOT have been allowed to be released as it was not a fully working, fit for purpose product that was ready for retail release.

Resolution To Major Problems:

After a lot of due diligence, I determined a new hard drive for my PS3 was needed. I acquired an HDMI cable as well and my gaming experience has never been better for all my games. A brief explanation follows to describe my process and resolution.

A lot of research was needed to determine what was causing the problems I mentioned in my previous post. No one source seemed to provide a diagnosis and suggestion to a possible remedy. I had to consider my other games played just fine, but there were some games with long load times and occasional lag. All other components to my PS3 were functioning properly and my internet connection was excellent. The most probable resolution was my hard drive because not everyone had the major problems I mentioned and an entire system replacement most likely was not needed. With the new hard drive installed, my load times for all games is unquestionably excellent.

Apparently, over my gaming time, my old hard drive began to go bad some time ago. Unfortunately, I do not know when the capabilities of the old hard drive began to fail. It may have started with a slightly longer load time or moments of excessive processing time. All factors are relative to each game, system and personal use.
Still, I had my suspicions that my problem was an issue and had a solution which did not necessarily rest in Sony, BioWare or EA's hands. So, with a lot of research, a reasonable cost and a little time, I replaced my hard drive.

Now, I've never been happier with my PS3 and especially my Mass Effect experience. I hope other people find this resolution for their problems or rather issues. So, no need for a need system, no need for a plea of help from Sony, BioWare or EA; if you're having issues like I mentioned, it's probably your hard drive. One thing I have noticed is that while I was experiencing lag the yellow "processing" light was running consistently during gameplay and seemed to be getting rather "noisy". With the new hard drive I rarely ever see the system "processing" data. This was a major key for myself in deciding to purchase a new hard drive.

What was acquired:
500 GB Toshiba Backup Drive $70.00; 500 GB Western Digital Hard Drive $70.00; Dynex Hard Dive Enclosure for the old PS3 hard drive $30.00; Dynex 5' HDMI cable $30.00. Totaling $200.00 while retaining the use of the old 160 GB PS3 hard drive, creating a backup for all PS3 information and gaining 340 GB of storage space for my gaming pleasure.

Note: I am sure others may find other solutions, component brands and prices for a resolution to their issues. I mentioned what was purchased as a reference for what resolved my issue.

Happy Gaming and Enjoy,
Wadidja
