Though it'd take quite a lot of work, I assume it'd have to be a pay-DLC.

I read the first post. Let me just say that it sounds like people want an action packed kind of ending. Mass Effect has always been more about telling a story than seeing a lot of gunfire and explosions. You don't need a huge adrenaline pumping battle in order to tell a story.
Never hurts to have both. It'll just take a little more time and effort.
And while you may not feel that a gun battle is needed I would say look to the character and ask what is his purpose. Protagonist? sure, story telling vehicle? Check. But these are just labels writing devlepors use to identify what a character is. Not who he is. Shepard is a soldier who protects the galaxy with a gun. He may find ways to avoid doing so but as a soldier in the war to end all wars, not shooting anything when it's his home planet at stake feels a bit odd.
ME always worked best when it did a bit of everything. A bit of combat, a bit of story, a bit of puzzle action. But it was how these individual elements were woven into a seamless tapestry that made all these aspacts so compeling. Combat wasn't just combat. The story told you where you had to go, what was waiting for you and who was going to stand in your way. The combat was a challenege to get through so you could continue the story. The puzzles helped break up the combat and netted you benefits for successful completion.
ME3 lost the combat aspect, that is integral to the structure of the game, near the end. It went instead of info dump babble that had to stand up by itself. It didn't help that alot of the explanation came from a new character we had never been prepared for. If Shep had some form of contact with the Cat before hand the character would have been foreshadowed and the player better prepared to take what the Cat says at face value. Instead the Cat stays hidden and the only possible hint of his existance comes in the form of the dream child........ who at the time shows no other hint of being anyone other than the kid Shepard saw get smoked on Earth and is a symbol of his helplessness to prevent the Reapers from burning everything to the ground.

Ah, this thread is alive and well I seeI agree that Javik's example is in for some adjusting. Indeed, have him come out alive if certain criteria are met. Kasumi's example with the rose is indeed fantastic. Good job Flog!
Hey obzen *waves*
Yes, Javik's example will be updated soon.
See, Bioware? People gave their opinions about my creation, I respected the majority, and am changing it. No artistic integrity nonsense.
Oh really, So your open to criticisim and change
While i agree with you in idea
I think most of your choices were pretty boring and straight forward and attempted to wrap things up in a pretty package.
Some of the key bits were there but really , its just such a wink and nod to everything that was ever mentioned, it takes any imagination or interpretation i might have had out of it.
Frankly i think you should reconsider and rework the whole dam thing.
Now imagine if you got 1,000,000 contadicting opinnions claiming to all want the same things,
All the while you were trying to make your own thing.
you really should not trivialise it.
Your not proving a point, just fanning the embers of dead rant.
Well..the whole point was that it IS a wink and nod to everything. It makes the me franchise feel wrapped up. Things like 'Get up cheerleader' are excellent ways of tying up small storylines, such and jack and miranda's rivalry.
And read what I said properly: 'I respected the majority'
I will change something if there is high demand for it. There is not high demand for me re-working the whole thingg, and so I won't.
If you think my ideas are so awful, maybe go and make your own thread...?
I was'nt haveing a jab at your work really, so much as your snipe at Bioware and its "Artistic Integrity".
I was mostly saying it to make a point , I don't really have a problem with what you have written up.
Taking fan feedback while still maintianing your orignal vision is not an easy balance, it should not be trivialised as such. most of the time the mojority demand is never that simple, people have different expectations, yet they all seem to think they want the same thing.
People on this forum can say otherwise but i do genuinely beleive that a lot of work was put into the extended cut.
while we did not get our war assets, i did get 90% of everything else i wanted. And a lot of that came from not listening to things i thought i wanted. Frankly they listened better than i could say.
Well anyways let get back to wanting War asset Suicide Mission 2.0 DLC, its going to make LOTSB look like horse armor

Not only do I want to see war assets in action, I also want to see the geth and EDI shut down when the player chooses the red ending. Their deaths weren't impactful because they happened off-screen.
I agree it would be cool to see that, but on the other hand I think this DLC would only focus on what happens before the ending and not during or after.

well yeah... if that were the case, then lucas should have just cut out the Rebel fleet's Battle of Endor scene. Since we didn't need a huge adrenaline pumping battle... If we're following your logic.
With all due respect, we're looking at war on a galatic scale, we've spent the past 24 hours of game time getting adrenaline-pumped with thresher maws, reapers, and goddam biotic charging banshees, trying to build a fleet strong enough to take earth back. Remember that cinematic that was an ME3 trailer? We kind of want to see that happening in our games, and we want it to see and reflect our choices and efforts, and majority want that experience to continue on rising (not just a lame slump that was the end mission).
And what do those logically boil down to?
A huge adrenaline pumping battle for the survival of every species in the galaxy.

They've pretty much said there's not going to be any more ending changes. They've stood firm on this. Their plan is to add to what's already there. However, I wouldn't expect them to completely rewrite the Earth mission.

Ah, but you can add things in without completely rewriting it.
Here's an analogy;
You have some chips (fries to you americans). You put some salt on the chips.
They are still chips, and yet they taste better imo.
This is similar. We have an end mission. Bioware puts some extra content into it.
It is still the end mission, and yet it is more fun to play.

Maybe they'll do something really big for the final Mass Effect 3 DLC. I guess their plan is a lot better than say, Star Wars, which actually did delete or completely change scenes instead of just adding to what's already there.

First finish the ME2 section (Jacob, Mordin and maybe Morinth) Then maybe ME3 squadmates or other known characters.
