Killing Reapers. I say I accomplished that goal rather well

My goal is to win. To me, winning means getting a happy ending - my character alive, my squad alive, the galaxy saved, and blue babies with Liara.

DM:  So you've never faced death?

JK:  I don't believe in the no-win scenario.

We all know how that one turned out.

I have the ending for you that you want.  You make it to the catalyst, but Anderson makes the hard choice, and blue babies come a rockin.

Main goal was to unite the races in a ethical and just community. Coulda been the Star Trek of our generation, until that damn ending. This was not Halo, destroying the Reapers was just a nessisary action of survival, but was minor in the grand scheme of the game.

Hmmmm what? I don't see the point with Halo. Halo never had bad ending nor hard choice.

It depends, are you asking about Shepard's goal, or my goal?

Shepard's goal is to save the galaxy. To provide for the continuation of galactic civilization as it exists now.

My goal is to win. To me, winning means getting a happy ending - my character alive, my squad alive, the galaxy saved, and blue babies with Liara.

My Shepard's goal was to save everyone. If destroying the Reapers meant killing the Geth and EDI, it wasn't worth it. So he chose control, and became the warden of the Reapers.

Then kill the Reapers.

Or stop Saren, and then 2 games later decide that despite convincing him to blow his own face apart, he actually had a very good point.

Enough of a good point to throw yourself into a shiny light of certain death.

Yeah.

For my Shepard? For all of my Shepards, the goal, once the threat of the Reapers had been established, was to destroy them. It was a them or us situation, and my Shepards chose us.

To enforce the idea that organics aren't good enough to live among Reapers and other owners of the galaxy by forcibly upgrading their DNA with Reaper components.

make captain. destroying the reapers looked like a good way to a battlefield promotion.

Sarens way of thinking has nothing to do with synthesis. He thought if he would serve the reapers they might let him live, that is hardly synthesis.

To blow things up, starting with some geth on Eden Prime and ending it with the Reapers and half the galactic stage. Sounds like quite an improvemen.. right? :/

Umm...

"Sovereign has.. upgraded me. The relationship is symbiotic. Organic and machine intertwined. A union of flesh and steel. I am a vision of the future shepard"

In the words of Tenacious D, That's F*ckin' Synthesis!

Commander Shepard has become a legend by ending the Reaper threat, you can continue to expand that legend through further gameplay and downlodable content.
