To go beyond the impossible and kick reason to the curb.
Fight the power.

It depends, are you asking about Shepard's goal, or my goal?
Shepard's goal is to save the galaxy. To provide for the continuation of galactic civilization as it exists now.
My goal is to win. To me, winning means getting a happy ending - my character alive, my squad alive, the galaxy saved, and blue babies with Liara.
yep cxan't agree more right now all we ca do is a pile of rubble.

But after that I really got to know and love the Geth, killed tali and the back stabbing Quarians, seduced Liara, Miranda, Kelly, and attempted Traynor. But when I met the starbrat I refused his options and left little a surprise for the reapers when they returned.

I mean, really, that seemed to be my Shepard's goal the whole time. My guy was told to stop Saren, I tried to stop Saren. The Reapers were trying to wipe out the universe, he's a part of the universe, therefore if the Reapers wipe out all life, he's going to die. I mean technically, the Reapers wiping out all life wasn't a goal until the end of 1. Once it was established, that the main goal of the Reapers was to kill all life, it became about stopping them from doing that.... but most of my "Shepards" were trying to stay alive. I mean, it's not like he was Jesus or anything, he was a soldier.

To stop the Reapers, while saving and protecting as much as I can (Paragon).
To stop the Reapers, doing what has to be done, no matter the cost (Renegade).
Sums it up pretty well for me too.
And to be a man**** Shep

An AI can be corrupted or F*** up majorly, as reference by StarBrat. So, no Control.
Synthesis looks better, but the reapers are still around, and the guarantee of an AI who has killed off who knows how many civilizations isn't enough for me to allow them to live.
Ultimately, Shepards entire goal with the reapers was to kill them.

Didn't want to join them (control) or change everyone into half reapers (synthesis).
