I was playing the ending last night for the first time after Leviathan (which I loved btw), when it occured to me during the riddiculous evacuation scene in London that they easily could have closed the Polite Harby plothole.
All they would have to do would be to insert a short cutscene of the Leviathans focusing on orbs (logically, a huge effort would be put in to bring as many orbs as possible to London for the final assault) and through them mindfuk Harbinger long enough for Normandy to be able to evacuate the wounded.
That would have explained that whole Harby-sits-and-waits-for-Shep-to-say-goodbye thing. Or better yet, just bring a shtload of orbs to London and fill up the Makos and shuttles with them, so that Hammer can travel safely through the city to reach the beam.
I still think it's absurd that Shepard risks the lives of everyone on the Normandy to evacuate squadmates who don't even want to leave the fight just because they got a little blood on their armors. (after some medi-gel and a shower, Garrus looks as battle ready as ever when he steps out of the Normandy on Mystery Planet) But despite this I also like the goodbye scene emotionally. The LI farewells I've played so far are really touching.
In short, I'm not sure if the evacuation scene is a good or bad or both, but they could have excused it being there by using Leviathan to explain why Harby lets it happen.
That's all. Thanks for reading.
Why didn't they take the chance to close another plothole when they could?

I can only agree that the evac scene is a horrible plothole and I find it unecesseary in the first place.
OK. I can see that Harbringer might have been a little too busy trying to stomp on all the little ants trying to scurry up the light beam and hit the "off" switch that it could not destroy the ship that it probably hated most in the entire galaxy, while it was sitting perfectly still, probably only 1km away. But still, sending in the Normandy was absolutely crazy. Right choice is to call in for a shuttle.

Aside Artistic Integrity issues, I think they'd have just too much of nightmare trying to make DLC which changes/patches other DLC, just from technical standpoint...

Nah, it's that Harby's under instructions to let Shepherd through, is my theory. Doesn't explain Marauder Shields though......................

The entire london segment is silly actually. They could have just had tonnes of shuttles fly into the citadel. Even though its closed - the ass end is still open wide enough for things to slip through (/grin)

They get paid regardless of plotholes, so they don't give a ****

It has but-cheek plates that close tighter than a- tighter than something that is very tight.Xellith wrote...

I suppose none of the trolls on this board thought it could be, I don't know, intentional, perhaps?

because people would be like "It should be in the original game, why do I have to pay for it waaaah"
Truth is, dlc size IS limited, and changing existing content in it is hard, since it could mess the whole thing up. DLC is 99% new content and 1% of small addons and changes to the ending because this 1% weights a lot and we can see it in EC that adds ONLY 20 minutes or so.
Let's just hope that with every dlc they will add and expand little by little, since it's the only possibility.

But they would have had to add a scene were harby shoots the normandy down if you didnt play leviathan.
And that would again cause anger for some people.
