Can someone (a dev preferably) clarify Bioware's position on the monetising of videos of NWN2 posted to YouTube.
Thanks.

NWN2 was made by Obsidian, but I doubt any dev of any company will reply here. That said, I'm not sure of what you mean. I don't think you'll run into any problems if you upload a video, if that's your question.

Youtube lets you profit from your videos via a monetizing process (ads I guess), but that would be making money off your NWN creations, which violates the EULA (or ToS, or whichever).
I can't imagine a NWN youtube vid getting enough money via the monetization process for it to be worth Bio/Obsidian's time to do anything about it.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the OP has in mind, but I wouldn't think Obsidian is going to care that a Youtoober is getting ad money, because the 3 people that watch it would be two loyal players and a lawyer who then responds with a "meh" comment.

By and by, I think OEI and BioWare both missed a big opportunity with their games by not building in a record feature. With the robust toolset, the games are ideal for mechanima, but even OC players might want to cut their adventures into a video to show off their builds. In particular, it would be nice to have a saved track that you could re-play in cinematic mode, switching between a free cam, static cameras, and other camera modes. A mess of videos on the youtube would be good for publicity. Even now, a single viral video that shows how well NWN2 has aged might bring back the players that passed on it way back in 2006.
Then again, considering what the DAO modders got up to, BioWare might have avoided the mother of all Hot Coffee incidents by not including such a handy feature.

Anything is better than Spam

It's annoyed me enough I let them become Trolls and responded by Spamming Back, but if Bioware is actually doing anything, the ENEMY is doing still more, and FASTER, gaining ground.

I thought this was a Spam Ad. I will revive it, but I would appreciate it if the OP would rethink a title that doesn't send my alarm bell ringing, and would the OP also please provide a detailed explanation of what they mean, exactly? (Although as per the above opinions, I believe if it's something like ad revenue generated from others watching the YT videos, it wouldn't raise the hackles -- I don't *think* so, anyway.) And in the technical sense, I suppose collecting any revenue of any kind in direct relation to efforts using the NWN/2 Toolset does violate the EULA and as such, would probably make it an at least "frowned upon" activity. Though such an opinion could be splitting hairs that aren't meant to be split.
