While some may argue that it takes "skill" to play this game, how would you gauge your skill level? Or another way of putting it is how effective are you?

I'd say I'm good. Certainly not amazing, not extremely good, but I'm pretty good. I know about spawn control, effective build combinations, etc. But I mostly play this game for fun and try out... less than ideal builds. I'm not much into soloing or speed running Platinum, but I have done so for challenge or because I wanted fast credits.

I certainly wouldn't put myself on Ashen Earth or ArleX level, nowhere near that. More just your fairly common above average player.

I admit that I may not be very good with most of the Vanguards or Sentinels...
However with a Geth Infiltrator I am literally a freaking machine.

A killing machine.

I am also very good with all the Soldiers and Cerberus Adepts.

I'd say I'm an experienced gold/plat player, the kind of skill any gamer could get simply by playing the game for as long as I have. There are far better players that I can only outscore in a match by fluke or lopsided loadout. Or if I'm better at one particular thing than they are.

I'm practiced enough to solo decently, and a team of four people of my skill level wouldn't have much trouble with platinum.

In addition, I am a more specialized at making the most out of "Sub optimal" builds, causing a team of four me's to grow stale much more slowly then normal.

I have encountered two players who I am litterally unable to beat scorewise without some sort of handicap.

I'm a general Gold player, but I'm training for Platinum.

I'm definitely a support player though, as I can barely solo Bronze.

I just soloed Platinum with a predator and level one destroyer in less than 3 hours. I'm that good.

I'd say... maybe seven or eight out of ten, with almost any character. I might be better if I used optimum builds and weapons and ****, but I don't like doing that.

My current quest (once the servers stop being annoying) is to solo gold. I've gotten to wave 10 (Justicar) ... so ... figure that rates me at least decent.

But, yeah, having fun and contributing to the success of the match is really what I'm after.

Above average? I dunno. I get compliments pretty frequently and often top the boards,but, meh, that's not really that big an indicator.

I am above average. But I tend to give up if the team falls behind too badly. I can solo any gold non-objective wave if I am willing though. I spent almost first 2 months playing silver a lot so I don`t tolerate leechers very well.

I mainly play PUG.. but when I accidentally die the team often takes extremely long to finish the wave or just fail the entire mission. This just tells me I am doing my share of work. I love playing with players who are better than me. I tend to camp and wait for the enemy when I play PUG, otherwise people get surrounded and get killed quick.

I rock the Krogan Soldier and have been since day 1. I know him like the back of my hand. I've bested many a people in PUB matches but never bragged about it. People are good at games such as Reach, COD, Battlefield, etc. Me? I'm good at this game. I like to think of myself as the best Krogan Soldier period!

I mean you were keeping right up with me using a Geth Infiltrator. In fact you were ahead until like wave 9.

stop bieng modest. if ur only decent, then solo-ing bronze should be ur first step

I would say above average at best. Can always handle my own and can carry on gold if need be.

Consider myself to be versatile with almost any class and character. But, nowhere near being fantastic.

And as for you Illusiveman you are very good and one of the best players if not the best on my friends list.

I've completed a solo on 6 Gold maps so far, so I'd say I'm mediocre...

I'd say that I'm well above average, but I don't really have the drive to push myself. I'm sure I could solo Gold, but it just wouldn't be fun for me, so I don't see the point. I play the game to have fun. Sometimes I want to top the scoreboard, just to joke with my friends, for instance, but I'm not competitive for the sake of it. And I'd much rather teach the noobs than 'skool' them.

Bronze...check.  Silver...check.  Gold has proven a taaaaaaad ... harder 

I say it that way, though, out of respect for just how many really good players I've had the pleasure to game with.

(here's where I'd toss in a 'We're not worthy" Wayne's World gif, but that would seriously date me...)

When I play a match, I want:

1.)  To succeed and get paid.
2.)  Try not to be last on the scoreboard.

I'm decent. I can carry a Gold match with an Infiltrator or Engineer (my strengths). I'm OK as an Adept. I fail hard as a Soldier, Sentinel and Vanguard (the classes I promote the most with character cards).

I soloed a Bronze match once and used all my consumables. I can't solo, but can sometimes start a public Gold match on my own for a few waves.

So I'm not an "elite" player, but can be pretty supportive
