Hmmm, so October is not going to be Halloween influenced this year then? (

Nope. No demonic, horror, creepy, undead, or similar themes this year.

The fact that the theme doesn't specifically cover such shouldn't necessarily prohibit any Halloweenishness. For example, if the Bazaar does win, then someone might try a Bazaar of the Bizarre -- a sideshow of creepy attractions. Well, it might work.

Ahh, a title I remember from the days of ADnD 2E Dragon magazine - Bazaar of the Bizarre. (In creaking, whiny ancient voice) Well do I recall it sonny...

Quite right. A bazaar is more than just stuff to buy, it also includes entertainment options.Bard Simpson wrote...

Don't forget to graveyard the topics that didnt get votes, and to add new topics to replace them.
Artifacts and Relics, and Gothic, would be good additions for example

Why can't The Bazaar and Dark Sun not be covered by the current challenge? I don't see how anything that fits Arabian Nights can't be used for these two as well.

Well, The Bazaar doesn't have to be Arabian. Rolo's original explanation said:
The Bazaar: Market time! Merchant stalls, placeable wares of all sorts, sounds, prefabbed NPCs to fill the bazaar (both selling and buying), scripts for dealing with thieves, scripts for stealing, scripted bartering systems, entertainment (jugglers, firebreathers, sword swallowers, performing bards, etc.), merchants with inventory that changes over time, NPC pickpockets, prefabbed items for merchants to sell (with nice descriptions, not everything needs to be valuable or magical). Things to help bring a market or bazaar to life and provide more variety.
There could be great Arabian bazaar material, but there could also be medieval European markets. Heck, I'd love to see it all!

Yeah, markets are, too often, dull. This could be an opportunity to change that. :innocent:
I think some of the greatest potential might be in entertainment material. How about a bard who "cheats" and uses enchantment magic, possibly to turn a performance into a bit of larceny? Maybe someone could set up a scripted contest, such as archery or a running race. How about making a dunk tank? Hey, maybe there could be something with a passing gypsy band and/or a circus -- I'm reminded of Velmar's CircusTilesAddon. Who knows?

Bazaar of the Bizarre is also a Fafhrd and Gray Mouser story.
