Some women...not all, far from all women, but some...are far too eager to throw out words like "sexism" and "misogyny" without realizing (or caring enough to try and realize) that the contextual setting of the situation makes such words entirely inappropriate. Which then only exacerbates the situation and makes guy say "See? that's what we're talking about!"

I'd like to add that I'm more for women's equality than most women are...but I'm going to stop there because the rest of that thought is for another time and place. Anyone can feel free to pm me if they're confused.

I don't play much, but I rarely seen ladies playing ME3 on xbox. And by rarely it's only twice. I never underestimate ladies on videogames, since my sister beat the crap out of me on racing games, gears of wars and guitarhero. In fact, I prefer playing with ladies since they usually don't compete over score and points, and are good teammates.

seen around 50 different girls on the PC side of ME3... that or VERY young kids with some voice issues (but kids don't play PC)

Female Gamers on PC aren't a myth they are real, and some are awesome and some are noobs nothing special about a female gamer.

Me? Jealous? Pfft.

In all seriousness, I actually used to be a big PC gamer, but I avoid PC gaming like the plague nowadays. I was a WoW fanboy (and very, very good too) but the game ended up causing more problems than it solved. So now I stick with my trusty PS3, and use computers with minimal computing power. My primary computer is a tiny little Dell Netbook that I'm actually very happy with...email, online banking, word processor, music...all I really need. The only thing it can't do that I wish it could is play movies. No video card. Youtube locks it up and I have to do a hard shutdown.

So yeah, I'm a little jealous. Some day down the road I intend to build a monster computer and wire it to my house's entertainment system (as my netbook is wired into my stereo now...8 speaker surround sound in my room say whaaaat...), but until then I'm perfectly content as I am.

I found this in WoW all the time. For a while I was the top dps in my raid group as a feral druid...and with some inappropriate gear, to boot. We would pick up randoms to fill dps slots, and at times they would avoid doing something that could cost the team dearly, strictly because they wanted "to beat that feral with the crap gear". I hated people like that. 

I have yet to ever...EVER...play with a girl who cared about such things. As long as the team survives and the objective is completed, it's job well done. 

I like it that way.

Wow...being intolerant of misogynistic and sexist remarks is NOT being tightly wound.  I'm not a chill girl--I don't put up with people's bullsheet.  The more women that put up with it the less men have reason to respect us. 

I guess I'm lucky in that the dudes I've met are pretty cool.  Some joke about their peens, but they aren't disrespectful or creepy.  But then again some of the people I play with are older than me, and I'm in my 30's. 

Nobody will respect anyone for their inability to take a joke.

PC is better for one reason and one reason only. We get to aim with a mouse rather than a baby joystick. Sooooo much better control.

What gets me is, when's the last time you heard the word misandrist? My spellchecker just lit it up because the word's so rarely used that they didn't put it in their dictionary. But I see about as many women that think all men are stupid pigs as I do men that think women should be at home in the kitchen barefoot and pregnant. Odd.

Sounds like you find the 10-15% of the XBL players who are... Bleh (For lack of a better word) also show's the reason why I no longer PUG and only even play when friends of mine are on, and even then, I myself and pretty freaking quiet over the mic.. I'm always looking for more people to do gold runs with however, a few people I know only stick to Bronze/Silver.. Unless one other person is on.

Off Topic: PC Gaming isn't all the anymore, I played MMO's for 6-7 solid years and spent a small mountain making my computer, and now.. I think the only time I ever turn it on anymore is to play C&C games, other then that I just use my little laptop for YouTube, email, school things, work and banking. Perfectly happy with my 360.

All I have to say about this is that I live with four girls (wife and daughters). Hell, even our cats are girls. Guy and girl humor can sometimes be vastly different. I am not stereotyping, but when I am around my guy buddies, there are things I can say that I can't say around girls. I am not referring to sexist jokes or anything of the sort. With a buddy of mine, we can joke freely without feeling like you are about to say something inappropriate. I think humor is just different. Some guys just don't know how to interact with a lady. Assuming she is a lady of course.

Anyway, I know lots of girl gamers and some are better at dealing with the big bad world that is th Internet. Also, some guys are just dicks while some girls are just, well, you know...

Well, in my job (division 1 college coach and personal trainer) I see a number of the "big, dumb jocks" that women refer to when they say stuff like that. They essentially pidgeonhole ALL of us into that description. 

I actually get it quite a lot, because I'm well-built myself. I have broad shoulders and defined muscles, and so many women assume that I'm a big dumb jock that spends his free time grunting in the weight room or saying "I lift things up and put them down." 

So I find it quite entertaining to egg on the women that fall under the category of

I AM WOMAN, hear me roar!

So yeah. Anyway, anyone who knows me or even follows my posts knows that I don't troll and it's all in fun...so it's that much more entertaining for me to get such people all riled up...because my online pals (be they men or women) are laughing behind their monitors

I have some female gamers on my friend list. If you are a good team mate and fun to play with, you get added regardless of gender. Simple as that.

BTW, I've never heard any sexism or disrespect while playing, but that may be cause I'm part of the glorious PC gaming master race.
