Mass effect was rated M for a reason, i don't understand why bioware didn't make the love scenes a bit more mature

I do agree that the other characters should have gotten something on Liara's level, but I wouldn't want to go beyond that. Liara's scene was tastefully done, and I'd take it over The Witcher 2 style sex scenes any day.

What separates art from pornography is intent.

There is no way things like that would be taken seriously in a game. Therefore it's best to leave it out.

I've seen this thread before... somewhere... and the conclusion from the mods will be it's a game not porn.

If anything, Liara's scene went above and beyond anything that needed to be done. Compared to all the other characters, she gets a full p0rn scene.

The way it was for Ash/Kaidan (femshep wise, never seen the gay one) was perfect. Garrus' scene was kind of awkward but honestly what could they have besides that, with him being an alien and all.. If you want, just use your imagination for anything beyond that. It's not a movie or anything, I don't need to actually see them getting it on or any full frontal nudes to get the jist of it.

If ash's scene had been like Liara's, I would feel uncomfortable with it.

mature =/= nudity.

Folks need to get past that concept.

Porn hardly, especially when the individuals involved are still in their underwear. Anyway I'd rather more romance content overall for the characters than a longer sex scene.

Maybe it's just me, but I find scenes where the characters are naked, but you don't see anything, far less awkward than scenes where it's two people rolling around on a bed in their underwear.

Which is why I think Liara's was well done. They didn't show anything, but it was actually believable, unlike the others.

How about just common sense? You take a shower, you go in naked. You have sex with your love buddy, you're going to be naked. You don't have to show us the naughty bits, but have the decency to make it not look ridiculous.

Foreplay? Just genuinely having fun first?

It happens. There's no fade-to-black, skip the rest of the conversation, and jump right into the sex in real life. :P

At least, in my experience(s) anyway. :?

Yeah, it usually takes a while to get the clothes off.  You don't just ditch them asap...

That is a scene that would have been better with nudity.

I don't really care that I didn't get any nudity in my romance; I don't play video games for sex scenes. Fade-to-black is good enough for me.

Not all of them need nudity. I agree traynor does though.

I am with the mods. It isa game, not pr0n.

I much rather have intimacy moments like Garrus picnic and such, than anything explicit. I can headcanon (or use goggle) for the racy bits, tyvm

A while?

I agree about Traynor though but more so for Shepard going in fully clothed. Then again, they could have just chosen to not do anything shower related as well so....I don't know.

As is, I think the majority of the scenes were fine.

Good point.

Although I guess it makes sense for Liara, seeing as asari might not even wear undergarments...

heh this reminds me of fallout 3 and new vegas. No matter what kind of armor someone was wearing they always had the same exact underwear on. Even if the armor only covered the breast of a female character.
It's the sad reality of gaming. if done tasteful and in the context of the game nudity is fine.

Nudity = Pornography: Sorry, guys but it doesn't. Very easy to show ****** without it being pornography. If Michelangelo can show David's junk without it being considered pornographic then they can show anything they want provided the context isn't for the sake of jerking off to.

You've got a game with sex scenes. It's already rated M. Just make a damn texture for Traynor so she isn't ****ing wearing her underwear in the shower. They already spent God knows how much time creating Liaras nude texture including a dimple on her ass. Either do it right (and by right I mena, don't make it awkward by having a shower rolling around in underwear) or don't do it at all.

Well, I played The Witcher 2 and didn't think the scenes could be compared to porn or were offensive, if anything I find the scene from The Rose of Remembrance very well done.

I'm not saying BioWare should have added nudity, all I'm saying is that it can be tasteful without being considered porn and it seems as the only reason why nudity wasn't explored more in the ME games was because of the backlash BioWare received from Fox News when the first game launched.
